The basics:
- I'm a humanities doctoral student right now in the DFW area.
- It's been a little bit over a year now since I returned from a 2-year adventure to complete a graduate degree in Portugal.
- I tried my hand at living the workaholic lifestyle, but realized something was missing. Currently seeking that out....
- Hint: I'm looking for a serious relationship.
- I'm a practicing Catholic, never married. I strongly believe that one of the most important things my religious fidelity gives me is the ability to love and honor a woman, and to pursue intimacy with her in a way extending much beyond the physical.
- My ideal match would be a devout Christian, have a special interest in deep conversations, and have a desire for emotional intimacy and lifelong friendship.
Quirks:
- I'm introverted at first, but if you talk to me after I've had my first coffee of the day, I'll probably unload about a hundred random jokes and ideas on you in an hour's time.
- I have several hundred books (physical copies), and somehow I have managed to fit them all in my room.
- For some reason, a well-done Dutch or French braid gets me every time. It's very pretty!
- I have a great singing voice and could be a good vocalist if someone managed to motivate me to get back into that
- I like hugs, and no hug is ever long enough!!
Background:
- I grew up and lived for most of my life in Fort Worth, but I've also lived for extended periods (1+ years each) in Dallas, Washington DC, and in northern Portugal.
- I'm one of five kids. My father's side of the family is Italian in ancestry only, but they all act like they were raised in Italy instead of Chicago. My mother's side of the family has some residually British quirks (her grandmother was from England).
Things I rigorously avoid:
- Fish with bones in it
- Large (i.e. most) roller coasters
- Dallas rush-hour traffic
- Germ-y surfaces when no sanitizing gel is forthcoming
- Places where I can't hear you talk (what?! huh?!)
Aspirations and life trajectory:
- Currently I am a graduate student on scholarship, and spend most of my time in the Dallas area.
- I do a lot of reading, writing, thinking, etc.
- I love to talk with people about their intellectual interests as well as other deep or otherwise life-y topics.
- My ideal job would be working in higher education as a professor, as well as publish as an author.
