Goofy, fun-loving, energetic, but still pretty laid back. I'm a bit of an introvert and tend to listen more than I speak, until I feel that I have someone's respect and attention, and they're ready to have a dialogue.
I enjoy solving problems (I'm a coder by trade), and learning new things. I was a teacher for a time, and still enjoy learning alongside (teaching) others.
I played competitive chess all through childhood and that ability to strategize, adapt, focus, and tap into working memory was a gamechanger for me educationally.
Sports are exhilarating for me (I grew up playing all of the competitive team sports) and nothing gets me excited more than the thought of [playing in] a game.
I have working fluency in another language (Japanese) and have taught it to newbies for years.
Music moves me in a way I can't quite explain and my tastes are so eclectic/varied that it's pointless to list them. But, I also don't make music, I just enjoy listening to it, and dancing with it.
I'm a one-on-one kind of person, and can connect deeply with most people in a short time, but I also struggle to be known by the people in my life.
In the same way, I can adapt to the people I'm around quickly and learn how to make them laugh/smile/like me.. Actually, I end up talking/acting like them as well.. I think my mirror neurons are just turned way up, or something?
I'm able to communicate complex things in an extremely succinct fashion and tailor it to the listener (this is part of what makes me great at my job).
I'm a good listener and I am able to handle intense emotions and make people feel heard, understood, and cared about.
What else... ridiculously competitive (once I believe I'm good at something) and like to push myself to continue growing and challenging yesterday's limits.
My relationship with God is really important to me, and I continuously do my best to re-orient my life in the way that God is directing me, though I'll be honest... it has been really difficult to always discern that successfully through all of life's crazy little moments.
