Texts : Matthew 22 :37-39, 1 John 4:8, 16.
What is love; Love is an object of affection.
Who is Love? GOD is LOVE. Stated in ( 1 John 4:7 to 8 ).
Therefore, as a Christian, you are a product of LOVE. But if you do not love others, it simply means that you do not know GOD.
Who should I love and how do I love?. God First, and the second is your neighbours, as written in ( Mark 12:29 - 31).
Who is my neighbour? Everybody is your neighbour. Yes! Everybody, including your ENEMIES, says the word of God in (Matthew 5:44).
That is why your forgiveness matters most to Christ Jesus. Just as He forgave His enemies, even while He was still hanging on the Cross of Calvary and writhing in excruciating pain . He wants you too to do the same thing to everybody each time you are being hurt by someone, as stated in ( Colossians 3:13 and Ephesians 4:32 ).
Remember that you can't show love to others if you do not forgive. So, your forgiveness must come first.
WHY should I forgive someone who ruined my life? Someone who hurts me so badly & stole away my joy? Yes! You MUST forgive because you too need to be forgiven by GOD, as written in ( Matthew 6:14 -15, Mark 11:25 -26), because no one is without sin, ( Ecclesiastes 7:20, in Romans 3:23 ).
Besides, unforgiveness will affect your relationship with the Holy Spirit and could hinder your prayers from being answered. In fact, lack of forgiveness may put you in a spiritual prison by blocking your blessings if you refuse to forgive others.
Today, that is why many Christians pray without seeing the result. Don't you know God will not listen to your prayer if there is any unconfessed sin in your heart ? ( Psalm 66:18, John 9 :31). So brethren, please let go of all offences and pain of the past today, FORGIVE, make your clean and be FREE that you can tap into God's promise for your life.
● Remember! You grieved the HOLY SPIRIT each time you hold grudges
against someone.
● Remember, LOVE is a commandment Jesus Christ gave us in ( John 13:34 - 35, and in chapter 15:12 - 13).
● Remember, LOVE is the fulfilment of the law, stated in( Romans 13:10).
● Remember, LOVE is the GREATEST ( 1 Corinthians 13:13).
● Remember that LOVE will cover a multitude of our sins as written in ( 1 peter 4:8).
Therefore, LET LOVE LEAD in your daily life that you live to please God in all that you do.
Please read these Bible verses to help you understand more on how to love like Christ Jesus. (1 John 3:4 -19), and (1 John 4:7 - 13, and verse 20 -21).
Stay strong & bless in the Lord and remember this verse always ( 1 John 4 verse 16 ). which says, " So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. "

What is forgiveness?
Forgiveness is the bedrock of reconciliation.
Forgiveness is like a bridge that links us with God in Christ Jesus.( 2 Cor 5:19 , Eph 1:7 )
Who needs forgiveness?
Everyone needs forgiveness. I have to forgive because I need to be forgiven by God, too ( Roman 3 : 23, Eccles 7:20 ).
For this reason, forgiveness is a necessary virtue every child of God must exercise always.
Jesus, in His prayer , said , " Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us " Matt 6:12 ".
In His teachings, He clarified it to perter in ( Matt 18:21 ) that we have to forgive the other 70 x 7 times.
And before His crucifixion and death, He was beaten, tortured & humiliated ,
despite the pain and agony he was going through, He forgave His murderers.
A Christian is someone who needs to act like Christ by following His example and imitating the way He lived and thought us.
Are you Christ-like in the area of forgiveness toward others ?
Remember, the bible encourages us to forgive one another in ( Col 3:13 )
Do you know that forgiveness, as stated in Matt 6:12, is like the law of reciprocity?
Which implies the way you forgive others. That is how you will be forgiven by God.
The necessity of forgiveness is further emphasized in ( Matt 6 : 14 -15 ).
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Here are some irrevocable facts about unforgiveness with God.
• You can not sow unforgiveness toward others and be expecting to reap forgiveness from God.
• Your prayers can't be heard by God if you don't forgive others(Mark 11:25)
• If you don't forgive, you are simply choosing to build a wall between God & yourself.
• If you don't forgive others, it means you prefer going to hell rather than spending eternity with God in heaven.
The bible says in ( Luke 17:1 NKJV ) that we can't do without being offended as long as they are alive,
but our role is to forgive, and God will take care of those who offend us.
May God grant you the heart that forgives others of their wrongs in Jesus Mighty Name
