Hi :) it’s nice to meet you. I have a good deal of life experience that has made me (along with my faith in God) who I am today. I am blessed to be alive and have a master’s degree in theology; as well as, social work. I am an open book, so please feel free to ask me anything. I am a family man and an old soul. Ultimately, I would like to have a friend; someone who is kind and I can be myself around. A person I can laugh with and grow together. Someone kind and sincere; genuine and honest. P.S. I’m the one with the cane in the picture.
When I was 9 months old, I had a stroke caused by a brain bleed in the cerebellum which left me completely paralyzed. I had to re-learn everything (walk, talk, etc.) and I have had a multitude of 24 surgeries. 10 were orthopedic, scars from my hips down to my feet on both sides. Back surgery and a dorsal rhyzotomy. I’m also a type 1 diabetic since I was 3. My family and have s special bond and I am… different than most (if not all) people nowadays. I have family, faith, traditions, values and ethics. When I had the stroke, they (doctors) weren’t sure if I would even survive; so I had my birth and last rites at the same time. I am very blessed to have the parents I do and only walk with a cane. Of course, I also have significant hearing loss in my right ear, and cannot drive because of nerve damage; but that’s nothing compared to other things and people.

I am spiritual and come from a religious background. My beliefs are highly based on my personal health experiences, love of family, and ethos/values which are the pinnacle of human guidance in this “interesting “ world (putting it politely of course 🙂) I’m trying to figure out what my Deus Vult is and I think it has to stem from a combination of music and certain themes. I use music very much to exemplify who I am and explain my thoughts or moods because music touches the soul and expresses when words fail or logic cannot comprehend; at least immediately. As a rule, I always try to act, be, and do good as befits a Christian-Catholic gentleman and show decency, manners, decorum; whenever possible. Sometimes it works, sometimes I fall short, that’s human nature. What matters most is how you react to such challenges. I’m thinking about doing some kind of… I don’t know… posts I guess, eventually with writings similar to what I share with you. It isn’t to be a braggart or anything of that nature, but to try and bring back some common decency, intelligence, and good old fashioned thinking in this modern/technological age; we are human , not bound by technology or communication via a buffer. My hope before I get old and die is to start change one incremental step at a time. Planting seeds of human growth, and goodness. One human being, one interaction, at a time.
