I was not raised in a Christian home but the Lord has called the whole earth from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, so we are all without excuse. I was baptized a few years ago in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of my sins, as Christ commanded his disciples to teach all the world.
'Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:' -Matthew 28.19
'And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.' -Acts 22.16
The Bible (KJV) is the Word of God in English. It is to be read as it is written and obeyed. It means what it says and does not require interpretation. If you are a disciple of Christ, and consider him your Lord, you will hear and do his word.
'Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.' -John 8.31-32
'And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?' -Luke 6.46
Once you are married, you are no more twain, but one flesh, until death. God does not consider divorce once married. If your wife chooses to leave, she is free to walk away but if she choose to re-marry, she will be living in adultery, and the adulterer will not inherent the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) So with all due respect, if you are 'divorced' and your husband is still alive, you may ask me a question and I will gladly answer you according to scripture, but I can't let it go further than that.
'For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.' -Roman 7.2-3
As a Christian man, you can expect me to love my wife and children, work hard to provide for them the things they have need of, and be the Christian man that a Christian woman and children would want to subject themselves to. My role as a Christian man is not to take my family to a 'church building' every Sunday morning to receive their doctrine from a man in a costume in front of a pulpit while the Bible is gathering dust at home in the attic. But I am called to open the Bible with my family everyday and seek the LORD directly from the scripture. I understand the responsibility that a man has to know the scripture so that he will not mislead his family into false doctrines. While a Christian man is to guide his house according to the authority God has placed on him, this authority is not given to him to mistreat his wife or boss her around, and exalt himself above the woman, but we are to be an example to our wife, just like Christ is an example to the church.
'Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish' -Ephesians 5.25-27
I am looking for a wife that will be my help meet (not help mate) and will fear and love the Lord above all else. A keeper of the home, will dress modestly, and a wise mother and wife that will build her house rather than pluck it down with her hands. I do not really care much about appearance; I just simply want you to take care of your health or at least have a desire to better your physical health, if you have not done so in the past. I believe a woman who walks in a meek and quiet spirit becomes instantly beautiful regardless of appearance.
'In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works' -1 Timothy 2.9-10
I look forward to sharing with you my likes, dislikes, hobbies, dream vacation, favorite ice cream, etc... as well as learning about yours....but before we get to that, I need to know first that you are serious about seeking God in his word and finding a Christian man. If you find the things I wrote down extreme/radical/3rd century mentality, then with all due respect, save yourself the time and effort and don't bother messaging.
