I value other people very much, and am genuinely interested in others and what makes them tick. I love listening to people, and to have them listen to me too. I left Edinburgh nearly 2 years ago, where I had a lot of friends. I moved for family reasons, and also because I was struggling with the fast pace and expense of capital city life.
As my job is still based in Edinburgh, and there have been a few factors delaying me in finding work closer to where I stay, I have been working from home a lot, and don't have many social connections where I stay now. Not all of my family stay where I have moved to - just a few - as they are all scattered about.
I am definitely open to meeting new people who may not stay close to me, as well as people that do. But as I am in a transitional phase of life just now, trying to figure out what next to do with my life, what I would ideally like is friendship first :-)
I have volunteered before on several clubs and projects for children and teenagers in the past, and relate well to younger people. I take a genuine interest in their welfare.
I normally enjoy things like cycling and light fitness training, but due to recent stresses have allowed myself to get out of shape.
I like going to quiet places and connecting with nature.
I have a young nephew who means the world to me.
Sometimes I am very talkative, and sometimes very quiet - it depends on the context. I am definitely a people person who likes to connect with others.
I feel like I have become too independent. I don't want to lose all my independence, but definitely want to let go of some of it, and appreciate the need for compromise.
