I'm an American, but I have an apartment in Kyiv, Ukraine.
I can live here all year, but I am not always here, partly because of the war.
I originally came to Ukraine, years ago, to work with some IT people here.
But some of them have been mobilized into the war.
The war in Ukraine makes me sad, and is sometimes very difficult when the lights go out.
But for me, positive thinking is an important element of faith. And the word of God is essential to faith.
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119)
I've grown up mostly in various states on the East coast of the USA. I've been a Christian my whole life and have a strong faith in Jesus.
I've never been married. I have no kids. I haven't dated much in my life because I didn't want to hurt anybody, and so I didn't ask.
I'm actually still a virgin; by choice. I've been saving myself for my future wife.
I was talking with my sister awhile back and we realized that my brother, my sister, and myself have never had a fight with each other.
I'm often the person my friends call when they want to be cheered up.
My favorite Bible is called the Interpreter's Bible, it's a 12-book Bible that takes up a whole bookshelf, usually used by pastors. It was written in the 1950s by a large number of major church denominations and scholars and gives known interpretations of every verse, along with figures of speech in Greek, etc… Even if you never contact me, if you ever run into some kind of faith crisis with yourself or someone you know, that is theological in nature, I pray that you would go find and read that Bible for the interpretation issue that your friend has. Every page of that Bible has one or two sentences of the King James Bible at the top of the page and the rest of the page discusses known interpretations, exegesis, theology, translation, etc…. It is fascinating to read, if you need to look something up, and will strengthen your faith.
You can get an online copy of the Interpreter's Bible for free at archive.org in the texts section. It looks like a scanned version of the 1950's edition (which is the best edition anyway).
I come from a technology background for my profession. I used to be a silicon valley engineer.
I've started a lot of businesses and often give my friends advice. I once started a nonprofit.
But I also like creative things. I'm a banjo player (which is an American musical instrument).
I like to dance. I took ballroom dance classes when I was in University.
I like Swing dancing, and an old-fashioned silly version of Swing dancing called Lindy Hop.
Maybe I could teach you how to dance. Lindy Hoppers will often dress up in vintage clothes and shoes to go dancing.
