I am not looking for anything beyond a casual date with an interesting Christian woman, but I am open to it becoming more than that if that is where God leads. I am open to any woman around my age who takes God seriously, but we’ll probably hit it off better if the below sounds like someone whose company you might enjoy.
I have difficulty staying engaged in conversation with someone who is not used to thinking and articulating well. I can also sometimes be unnecessarily assertive and argumentative and would love to find someone who won’t be intimidated by that and will tell me when I am out of line.
I am still pondering my position on gender roles but generally ascribe to complementarian positions. I am, however, willing to date a Christian who disagrees on me with this or any other theological position, as long as she can ascribe to the Apostles’ Creed. I am, however, quite Protestant in my theology in ways that I know from personal experience that many Catholics and Orthodox Christians can find off putting.
When it comes to conversation, I am ready to talk about anything, but I know more than the average person about history, law, politics, and international relations, all of which my college education dealt with, along with a less thorough coverage of math and economics. I have a working knowledge of the traditional great books, though I have not read most of them as thoroughly as I would like. I also greatly enjoy Russian literature as well as Tolkien and Lewis. My favorite contemporary novelist is Pat Conroy. I also know enough about chess to make polite conversation, though I cannot confess to any great talent at it. I do not read books on theology as often as I ought, but my favorite is Abolition of Man by C.S. Lewis, and Surprised by Hope by N.T. Wright is one I read recently for the first time and found very intriguing.
