Being a first time mom to my baby girl made me realize that providing financially isn’t enough to be called a good father just as giving birth isn’t enough to be called a good mother. I need my daughter to have a God-fearing father to look up to who will set a high benchmark when it comes to her standards for a husband when she grows up. I want her to learn how a woman should be treated by witnessing how her father treats her mother. A father who would encourage her to prioritize strengthening her faith and values. I pray to have a husband who leads the family in a way that is pleasing to God, with integrity, high values, and strong principles. I desire stability, a solid and dependable foundation, consistency matched with effort, something that is far from fleeting and won’t just lead us on and not be accountable/responsible. A man whose priorities are in proper order: God, wife, children, ministry, work, and friends. A man who filters his circle outside the family because he knows that bad company corrupts good morals. A man who doesn’t resort to vices and drugs. A man I can safely air my thoughts and emotions without the fear of being yelled at, cursed, and humiliated. A man who considers my views and opinions in every decisions he has to make. A man who won’t invalidate what I feel instead leads and initiates to resolve and settle conflicts. A man who never gets tired of providing assurance, security, and protection. A man who breathes to express his love for me and the family, his words have actions as follow through, affectionate, gentle, trustworthy, and faithful. A man whose whole being belongs to the Lord and next to his wife. That man whom I can safely and lovingly spend my whole life with.
