I made my profession of faith in Christ at a very young age. Looking back I feel that I might not have really had a true experience with Jesus and it haunted me for years. "Am I saved? Really? Why don't I feel any different inside?" Then in my 20s I left the faith. For about ten years I told everyone I was agnostic, that I didn't think it was possible to really know if God was real. It was a rough time in my life. Fast forward to my early 30s. I hit a low point and began to pray, "God, if you're there, please show me. If you're there, I want to really know who you are this time" And that made all the difference. I'm so glad He didn't give up on me!
I struggle with many things, but my strong points? I value and strive for honesty, kindness, and integrity. My flaws are many, but I hope that through Christ I can overcome. Like Paul the apostle said, Christianity is a race. Perhaps he meant a marathon---not so much a competition against others, but against ourselves.
