Maybe I'm a throwback from another era or something (my first pet was a dinosaur...lol), but I can remember a time when "boy meets girl", they eventually go out on a date, there's nervousness, uncertainty, hopefulness, etc., etc., etc. In other words, things happened gradually, and things either developed or didn't develop naturally over a course of time. Compare that to dating sites today. To me, and this is only one man's opinion, they seem to be more like job-recruitment centers: Here are the job expectations (be my husband one day, look like this, etc., etc.)... Fill out your resume if you meet the job requirements... Don't call us, we'll call you... Where is the spontaneity in any of that? I guess that what I'm getting at is this: Do any women here believe in old-fashioned dating...risks and all included? I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. Thank you. Post Reply

I have a Long list they have to do before meeting in person. They have to Travel to me. Online dating is every difficult for Many people. Post Reply

Posted : 1 Feb, 2021 12:25 PM Travelling has never been an issue for me, and, of course, there would be other reasonable things which would have to be worked out after conversing with one another. The keys words there are "after conversing with one another". This is probably my fourth time passing through on this particular forum, and, quite frankly, from my own personal experience, it is the worst site by far. I mean, on all the other sites that I've been on, I've been contacted by a lot of people, and there's at least the potential to actually meet somebody in person some day. Here? Again, this is only my own personal experience, but in my four times here, I think that I've only ever had about two real conversations with anybody. Oh, I've had a lot of contacts from fake accounts that disappear immediately, but that's about it. Anyhow, I'm glad to see that you've actually spoken to and met people via the online platform. Me? I suspect that I'll be gone from here within the next couple of weeks, never to return. Was that clapping that I just heard? lol. Post Reply

NO dates off CDFF. But I've made few Online friends . I find that Single Older never married Men are the Friendliest on here. Post Reply

Posted : 1 Feb, 2021 12:46 PM I'm guessing (I could be wrong) that the men whom you've spoken to contacted you first, and then you responded back to them. I'm also guessing (again, I could be wrong) that the norm is for men to contact women, and that they normally only get to converse with them if they choose to respond. Anyhow, I'm sorry that some of the men were mean. That's bad enough, generally speaking, but even worse on a site that claims to have Christians on it. Not blaming the creators of the site themselves, but rather the members who don't behave properly. Well, if nothing else, I've changed my profile to where it no longer reads like a job posting. I really only bothered to come back this fourth time because I liked one member here. She hasn't been online for a while, so she might never return. Even if she does, she might have no interest in me whatsoever, so, unless something drastic changes soon, I'll be gone with the wind. I trust that the world will go on just fine without me here...lol. Post Reply

Some response and some don't on here. I'm not too shy to send a message. I've also received a few messages from men I'm not interested in but I usually will respond back just once. This is a dating site and Many men hear VIEW over and over again. I wish they had a block button for that . 😀 I think most people don't like rejection if they make the first Move. Never been a Problem for Me ! Lol If you decide to leave I wish you the Best. Dating sites are not making a Fortune now. Post Reply

Anyhow, I've never really put any faith in dating sites. Let's face it...I'm not God's gift to women. That said, I do just fine in person, just not online. Whatever.
