Admin	wedding songs =) Posted : 18 Sep, 2010 09:55 PM I'm sure I'm not the only one who contemplates weddings...(?) even though I may just elope if/when the time comes! Have you thought about what song(s) you want @ your wedding? If I have a wedding, I want to have Watermark's "More Than You'll Ever Know." Not really a wedding song, but it describes what I want in a best friend/husband. Post Reply

If there are going to be guests, I would want the focus to be on the essence of what the ceremony is all about, not the moving music. The last wedding I went to had music as the couple left together, which was a cute touch, but completely distracted from what was going on. The friend I went with had to shout out "I love this song!" I would rather have my friends and family remember the purity of what was going on, not the hip tunes we had going on. As for a first dance, the song from The Bodyguard is a classic. As long as "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt doesn't happen, you should be good. (Seriously, people LOVE that song for weddings, but if you listen to the lyrics... not that romantic.) Post Reply

I can't imagine mine being willing to provide any substantial financial support for the wedding. I CAN imagine them being very controlling and just taking over. I think I'd rather do what I was able to on my own and not feel that obligation to have a wedding that pleased them. In a healthy parent-adult child relationship, though, I would think that the parents would desire to support the couple and what their wishes are for a Christ-centered ceremony. @pianogal- That's a really great song =) @River- "The Way You Look Tonight" is SO romantic... :hearts: @siylii- That's an interesting thought! I wouldn't want want the music to detract from the ceremony itself, so perhaps it is best saved for the reception. Something worth thinking about anyway =) Post Reply
