I'm a little anxious about this post but the intention is to better prepare myself now so that this issue isn't present in marriage with my future wife. I've lately had the topic of pornography come to mind. Now i would lie if i didn't say that I'm constantly being tempted and at times fall in this area but by the grace of god and the work of the holy spirit i will keep fighting the good fight to overcome. Why I have brought up this topic is I want to understand how this area that all men struggle with affects you ladies. Now I'm not totally clueless in the effects that this issue causes. i understand that it takes away from the experience of finding things out together as a couple and brings certain expectations in the bedroom not to mention how demeaning it must be for females. What I'm asking is, 'personally what does pornography do to you in the way you look and the way you feel knowing that a man is looking at you in the same manner as if a porn clip. Posted : 17 Dec, 2011 03:55 AM I am gonna get personal here..I was in a marriage of 31 yrs with this issue...It takes away from intimacy is your marriage..As a woman it crushes you to be compared to these images that are fantacy and air brushed,,A real woman can not compete...A man involved can never have enough and in my marriage led to unfaithfulness,prostitution and strip clubs....A man has to admit there is an issue called Sex Addiction and this is a real Issue..Went to a Group called Pure Life for Years..This group included Pastors..The internet makes this issue,,widespread...As a woman if you want a good marriage flee.... Posted : 31 Jan, 2012 10:58 PM I've been in that situation on and off , thankfully nothing more than looking at dirty pictures on the internet , but while doing it , I can testify that I have been strongly convicted by the Holy Spirit on how wrong it actually is , but I also realised that on my own I could not stop , and in fact would get deeper and deeper into it , so I fasted and prayed , and the end result was that I just don't have the feeling I want to look anymore , within a matter of days the Holy Spirit took it completely away from me. But I know every now and again , the devil (who we know is like a hungry lion prowling around and waiting to see whom he can devour!) will attack and try to get me back there , but a simple prayer in total belief , and I will not fall again. So I hope this little message goes out to anyone who is tempted , that they too can be helped as I have been. And it does not just apply to sexual addiction problems , but any other temptation which we give in to as well. Post Reply
