Admin	Do you believe in Genesis Chapter 24? Posted : 5 Jul, 2011 06:20 AM The chapter explains about the servant who was sent by Abraham to find a wife for Isaac. After prayers, he found her, then asked her to go that night but they left for morning to go back and wed Isaac. When they got back to where Abraham and Isaac were located, Rebekah and Isaac got married that night they first met. The chapter did not say wedding at all but cosummated (I may have misspelled that word but you get the idea) that nigh. My question is for you ladies, would you marry like that that now we have the internet and when ready to meet, get married that weekend of first meeting. Would you go for it? I would in my opinion because of 1 Corinth 7 has the chapter about marriage and contains. If you cant hold, get married like that. Some Christians years ago in my bible study talked about it and admitted that the real marriage is when you first make love, not the wedding. The wedding is for the government to legalize you are married to each other. The real wedding as said in OT is when you first make love to someone. Please do not jump to say harsh things to me but I tend to agree with this format. I believe in eloping once meeting and make love. If make love before wedding, then get married as soon as possible because of possiblities of pregnancy. So.. Everyone has different interpretation of Bible. Not twisting but honesty. Look at Ruth and Boaz. See? When Christ is ready, we are married. It did not say wedding at all. JUST RECEPTION! It did say in Bible, "Marriage supper of the Lamb" I follow what the Bible says literally. Please respect my opinion but I like to hear what you have to say and please be nice! Post Reply

And, many are not Christians online following Christ. Internet dating is very difficult. Meeting online is not like meeting and spending time in Person. I have met several inperson on another Christian site. I've turned down a couple of proposals. I am not marring anyone without knowing a lot about them. If the Spirit leads you to say Yes, then do it. I did not have that Spirit leading to say Yes. JMO :angel: Post Reply

Posted : 5 Jul, 2011 11:36 AM The words indicated in Bold are censored from the CDFF Forum: I'm not answering your question specifically, but bear in mind that just because somebody is mentioned in the bible, it isn't an automatic approval of their life or behaviour - often it is a warning or encouragement. Don't forget that God considers marriage to be lifelong which means it carries some responsibility to choose your partner wisely. You really don't want to find out something minor yet infuriating about your partner (like they f-a-r-t in bed or pick their nose) afterwards! Post Reply

If I was moved by the Spirit, yes I would marry without the courtship stage...but and this is a strong but only if the Spirit would move me. I don't think the bible times were much different than now except for communication, travel time, and fast food. There is nothing new under the sun or haven't you read that part yet? Post Reply
