He who finds a wife finds a good thing and recieves favour from the Lord.

The bible states (depending on which version you read) that 'He who finds a wife finds what is good/finds a good thing and recieves favour from the Lord'.
God does not lie, and this passage means that in order to find a wife, a man must be favoured by the Lord, or find favour in Gods eyes.
So, the fact that I have not found a wife means quite obviously that I am out of favor with God. For whatever reason God is not very happy with me, and is punsihing me and expressing his disfavour by not giving me a wife.
Now befoe you go and say 'Ohhh it's alright, God has someone for you blah blah blah.." the thing is that I am now in my 30's and have NEVER had a wife. I have NEVER even had the chance to have a wife (or believe me I would have taken it).
The problem now is that I have come to realise that even the most evil wicked men in the world have wives, even though they cheat on them, bash them, kill them etc..
So now I think that God favours murders, serial killers, rapists and pedophiles over me. God shows them favour over me by giving them wives, and me who is supposed to be his loved child etc.. is even worth his time at all.
Pretty discouraging, huh?
Does anyone else have any other views on this, as this is the logical, scriptural based conclusion that I have drawn based on the evidence.

You know, when God says 'no' or 'not yet', it's because He loves and cares about you and it's for your good, not because He wants you to feel bad. Try and keep that in mind. God bless and I hope you can figure out how to stop being so discouraged soon.

The biggest error we can make with God's word is to put a time limit on it. Abraham did not get his first promised son until he was old. So, why do you feel that you are any different than Abraham. We all go through LONG delays in life.
I want healing for a physical ailment and the scriptures say it is ours to have. Should I now think God has overlooked me? Believe me, satan tells me that a lot and guess who is talking to you?

Also didn't you come across the other verse in the same book that talks about how it's better to live on the roof than in a house with a quarrelsome wife?

I'm gonna give you 2 answers, one from the Bible, the other from my personal experience.
1. 1 Cor 7:
Verse 7-8 Paul shares that it is GOOD for him to be unmarried and encourages it to those who are still unmarried.
Verse 27 Paul says seek not a wife.
Verse 32-33 Basically says those who are unmarried can focus more on the Lord's work than those who are distracted by a wife.
Based on these verses, I think we can conclude that not having a wife does not mean one is unfavored by God, but that for some, not having a wife is a blessing. You may want to do some more in depth Bible study. I don't think you can base your doctrine off 1 verse. You must take all of scripture and keep it in context.
2. As for this quote "So now I think that God favours murders, serial killers, rapists and pedophiles over me."
As one who's ex-husband fits in there, I can assure you, God's favor has left him. Maybe he had God's favor at one time, but as he faces life in prison, has lost his family, home, business and basically everything in this world. No, I must say God's favor is not upon him.
You reap what you sow.
God is actually quite clear throughout scripture that He hates such vile acts. To say that God favors those who do such things shows you lack understanding of God's Holiness.

Random,
Hold up... let not your heart be troubled, there is HOPE:laugh:
Look at what the passage says, He who finds a WIFE, find a good thing, and favor from the Lord.
The operative word here is WIFE... you've been looking for a woman to married to MAKE/BECOME your wife. But God says the man who finds a WIFE, which indicates that the woman you find must ALREADY have such spiritual qualitlies and character as God has laid out in His word, as being a wise godly woman in His word, who has the inner character and qualities of a WIFE BEFORE SHE GET MARRIED. think on that...
You see, All women are not qualified to be a WIFE, just as all men are not qualified to be a husband, and these should neve marry. A woman who has the inner spiritual character and qualities of being a WIFE, does not have need to become a wife, becasue she already knows what a real wife indeed is suppose to do, and how she is to treat her husband, and run her household. Just as a man who is a husband indeed knws how to love his wife, and treat her, and take care fo his wife and his household.
So maybe if you start looking for a wise godly woman who has the charcater of a WIFE BEFORE she is married, you will find your good thing, that God has purposed for you. But you must also make sure YOU are a wise godly man with the character and qualities God requires of you in the spiritual leadership role of the household and wife in a marriage, as the husband.
See, so start all over in search, because unless you are seriously searching for a WIFE in character, how will you ever FIND... start with making your prayer request known to God as to the type of wise godly woman that He so desires for you, and you work on being the wise godly husband she will desire of you. And I think you just might find that wife indeed, who is obedient to God's word, and you will receive favor in a marriage, which are all the blessings God bestows upon a godly marriage that is pleasing in His sight.
Never Settle for nothing less than who you are spiritually in character, and for sure nothing less than who is pleasing to God in character according to Ephesians chapter 5, I Peter chapter 3, and Proverbs chapter 31... a woman who is a WIFE INDEED her charcater willl show up in the dating process and you will know whether or not the woman is qualified to be a wife or if she is just a woman who seeks a man to marry...
God bless, to all of you who are seriouslly searching for a suitable mate...

Three things Random Soldier.
1) Don't add to scripture what's NOT THERE.
When Satan tempted Eve, she ADDED to God's Word's.
" . . We may eat from the fruit of the trees of the garden. [But] from the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God did say that you may not eat from it, AND YOU MAY NOT TOUCH IT, lest you die." Genesis 1:3-4
God never said anything about touching.
2) Lead people (including your lady) to God.
Adam was there at the temptation & DID NOTHING!
3) Read the scripture in its entirety.
Don't be a cafeteria christian that focused too narrowly on just a few scriptures. Remember that Satan misapplied Psalm 91 to tempt Jesus at the temple.
I recommend a daily bible study that is in chronological order.

twas EXACTLY gonna say what semper said about the "adding" onto scripture... ppl who usually add onto scripture discourage themselves and the Lord is saying "um. I never said that.". So be careful
