I used to listen to it a lot, and had a few friends who were in Metal or Screemo bands. Most of the stuff that's been coming out now it either repetitive, or sounds like a bunch of teenagers just hitting the same notes on a few guitars, and someone going nuts on a drum (and not in that "Wow, their amazing!" kind of way.)

I've never really been one to follow much of the Mainstream Metal so, I'm not sure about that. I still can listen to a little of it, and it's usually because a friend is in the band, or for the environment or venue.

Generally, if I have to look up the lyrics because I can't understand any of it, and the rest of the band isn't mind blowing, it's not a seller for me. (So, yeah, this also applies to bands in other genres.)

I'm not into screamo- but I love metal!

What bands do you listen to?

I know some ladies that are into this kind of music, you just have to look around...a lot lol. I find this with men too though, they all seem to like country or whatever is on the radio. Not that I'm putting anyone down for their choices in music, we're all different.

I have around 130 different artists I listen to, it would take forever, but here are my top favorite: Red, TFK, Fades Away, 12 Stones, Skillet, Disciple, Flyleaf, The Letter Black, Pillar, Blindside, Cord of 3, Decyfer Down, Oh Sleeper, We Came As Romans, Falling Up, P.O.D., Linkin Park, Fireflight, Close Your Eyes, Cry of the Afflicted, Dark From Day One, Egypt Central, Dead Poetic, Destroy the Runner, Secret and Whisper, Thrice, We As Human, Worth Dying For, and so many more. These artists are more in the light metal range.
