Don't limit God!

I am a guy that has known the Lord since I was a child. I have followed him, studied his Word, taught it to others and have been involved in music ministry for over 30 years. I can play piano, guitar and bass, sing and I'm artistically talented. I have a very quick wit and keep everyone around me yet I am sentimental and romantic. I am a big guy, yes, but I don't think I'm hideous or repulsive in any way. My question for you ladies is:

Why do you limit God by putting age restrictions on your profile? Just because I'm over 50 doesn't mean I have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. It also doesn't mean that I should be restricted to only older ladies. (not that there is anything wrong with them) I have never been married and I know for a fact that I would make a good husband and an excellent step father. The children don't have to be my own for me to love them. The idea of a ready made family appeals to me so much. I think if you ladies in your twenties and thirties would take the upper limits off your profiles and at least allow us to communicate with you, you might be surprised at what we have to offer. Pray about it and see what God lays on your hearts.

So TigerTim, I appeal the same logic to you... don't limit God! Your age limit for women is 26-42 but you are 52. Are you not thereby limiting God by not accepting women who are 62-77? That is the same age difference from your age that these women would be looking at.

The issue is being equally yoked. A 52 year old man is not looking for God's will in a 26 year old woman, any more than a 26 year old woman is looking for God's will in a 52 year old man. You are in two different stages in your life. Both would only be looking for an earthly desire to be filled, which we are both old enough to know usually leads to disaster.

If it's God's will you're seeking, may I suggest you pray about what limits you may be putting on Him?

Touch! Technically, I'm not against an older woman. The older I get the wider the range of possibilities! It's just that I would like to share in the raising of small children. If that means grandchildren, so be it. Your point is reasonable (and convicting) and I repent of my obvious hypocrisy. I will change my profile immediately!

You are picking a wie based on whether she has young children or the potential to have young children? If that's not limiting, I don't know what is. What about being open to the woman that God might have for you?

I've already admitted my hypocrisy and changed my profile to reflect it. The child thing is just one of my desires. At no time did I ever say I wouldn't marry an older lady, I just expressed the desire to have access to the younger ones. By changing their profiles they are no more locked into an older man than before, just more aware of their qualifications. Life experience is nothing to be scoffed at.

I'm just picking on you man. I have my own desires and while they can seem to limit God...I don't for one second believe God is trying to find a 70 year old for me.

Most young women would not want a older man.

If I was 20-30's I would not want a Old man either.

Seems many on these sites want what is out of their

reach.

Alright, one more thought on it. If a thousand years is as one day unto the Lord and a day is like a thousand years, what's a couple of minutes either way.
