What would you do if you discovered that your husband is greedy( I mean wanting to eat or drink more food than he needs)?

Hmmm... Don't all North Americans eat and drink more than we need to? :excited: I'm not sure I'd classify that as greedy. Glutton, perhaps.

I would classify him as greedy if he wanted more than his share of 'our time', 'our house' or 'our money'. Or if he was otherwise always putting himself first. I am very conscious of those things and do not do them, so he and I would not last very long... ie. he would not be "my man"!

Problem solved

There are far more pressing ways in which someone can be selfish, as T&B stated above. This is an unusual and unique question though.

Shamah after reading your question and the subsequent answers I had to go see where you were from. Ladies it's a cultural term lol even in my country we use the term greedy as you would say glutton. As in if your friend just had a massive meal and they still wanted more you would jokingly be accused of being "greedy".

To answer the question though, a sign of over eating may be a sign of depression there are people who "eat their feelings" it would be something to investigate and then the best course of action can be taken and my first line of defense is always prayer and seeking the Lord for direction.

Now I understand, thank you, TW. I figured there was some cultural difference my uncultured self was missing! ;) Foot in mouth moment noted!

And I agree with what TW said about this and dealing with it.

I decided to ask this question because i saw some guy at a restaurant eating too much! He came in with a 1 litter bottle of juice, ordered for a plate full of food and immediately he finished eating that, i saw him eating a whole chicken! really??

I guess the word greedy can still be used as you would gluttony(In this case wanting to eat and drink more than you need to)

Personally, I would watch(while investigating), help and pray.

I would watch or try to investigate this problem to find out why or what makes him want to eat too much...this would take a lot of time though because i would have to look into his past(family), what he is going through...

If I discover that it is a habit, I would support him for example i would make sure i prepare enough food at home so that he can eat whatever portion he wants to.Also, if he prefers a particular dish, i would cook it often to satisfy his habit. However, this will be another problem if there is not much to eat at home or if we went to visit a friend or relative! It would be a real embarrassment if we went to eat out! I mean it is possible! But if i discover that he just has 'eating disorder' then i would encourage and help him to seek medical attention.

Most importantly, i would seek God's intervention in this matter!
