Have anyone watched/read this? What do you think about the book/movie?

I had a friend lend me the book who, for some reason, thought I would LOVE it. However, I could not get into it. To me it was a shallow woman with a rather uninteresting story, but who had a voice and inner dialogue many modern women maybe can relate to. I could not get past the first 20 pages. Maybe it got better from there, I don't know.

Eh, I'v heard of it. It was described to me by one female friend as, "Complain, whine, moan," since the main character was apparently incredibly selfish, destroyed her family because she was bored, and is now some sort of cult hero for it. Actually, I believe her original wording included a certain B-word that means something similar to "complain." Needless to say, she didn't like it very much.

Yeah so the woman divorced her hubby just bcoz her hubby never seemed to listen to her and she never communicated her feelings toward her hubby. As far as I could recall, that was the worst excuse I've ever heard of divorcing someone.

And I am wondering why on earth that kind of book/movie could be listed as best sellers.. Geez.. *rolling my eyes*

I could not find anything good about the movie except the food and Bali.
