Did you know that you can LOVE your way to lower cholesterol?

I was browsing through one of my back issues of the Christianity Today International published Christian marriage magazine titled Marriage Partnership and came across an interesting little "NEWSFLASH" section on this truth!!! :yay::yay::yay::applause::applause::applause:

Here's what this "NEWSFLASH" from the Fall 2007 issue of Marriage Partnership had to say about this ... listen up, savedbygrace and edw, especially!!! :dancingp::dancingp::dancingp::hearts::hearts::hearts::

"Sending love letters to your mate can lower your cholesterol. In a recent study at Arizona State University, participants spent 20 minutes a week penning letters to family members about their feelings. At the end of three weeks, their total cholesterol levels had decreased by an average of seven points, whereas those in the control group, who wrote about their jobs or daily activities, showed no change. "When we express our love to the people we care about, it calms us and reduces many of the physical effects of stress," says Kory Floyd, Ph.D, associate professor of human communication. Though experts aren't sure how, lower stress levels mean lower cholesterol levels. SO GRAB A PEN AND PAPER. YOUR MATE -- AND YOUR HEART -- WILL THANK YOU!!!"

How about THAT?!!! You can ACTUALLY "LOVE your way to LOWER CHOLESTEROL!!!" :yay::yay::yay::applause::applause::applause: Yay, Lord!!! Barefoot Hooray!!! ... and THEN some!!! :dancingp::dancingp::dancingp::rocknroll::rocknroll::rocknroll::hearts::hearts::hearts:

Yikes! I actually have the opposite problem. My bad cholesterol was actually borderline LOW last time it was checked. I did not even know that there was such a problem as it being too low, but there is! Being that cholesterol is a type of steroid, there's this theory in the medical field that asthmatics' lungs do better when their cholesterol level is within a certain range. When it falls below that, their steroid-loving lungs aren't happy and act up! I have asthma, so was told by this particular doctor that I needed to stop avoiding cholesterol. I must admit, that my asthma does seem to do a little better after eating cholesterol-loaded foods, but I still really shy away from buying anything with cholesterol in it, because cholesterol issues run in my family.

Thanks for the newsflash Steve, I guess I have the best cholesterol rate on record then! I'm the old fashioned sort, so I enjoy writing (and receiving) love letters and such. Never knew it would have an affect on my Chol. rate though. That's good to know!

You're welcome, Charlie!!! :hearts:

And thanks, pixy, for sharing about the flip side of having too much cholesterol ... didn't know there was a flip side.

Love from my heart to both of you in Christ,
