I've been in those situations before and afterwards realized, after the emotions died down, that it would have been bad if a relationship had progressed with that woman. The Lord was looking out for me even though I wasn't thinking correctly. View Profile History	Fear of Rejection Posted : 14 Mar, 2013 04:31 AM I remember vividly asking a woman out for the first time after my divorce. The sweaty palms, the knot in the pit of my stomach, the procrastination. But I determined even though i felt such fear that I would muster the courage to do so. Well I went up to her and began to talk with her and continued to ask her out. She was very gracious in rejecting me. When I went away I said to my self that wasnt all that bad. It didnt hurt as bad as my emotions made it out to be. If you know fear it is most time not as bad as we think it will be. The reality is relationship requires courage to build trust. Relationship takes the risk of rejection to have the prize of acceptance. So in conclusion If you are ruled by your fears you will never know what being loved truly looks like. Remember their is one who will always love you and is safe to reveal your self before. God desires you to reveal your self before Him and become vaulnerable just as He set the example and became vualnerable before His creation. If you loose your life you will find it............. View Profile History	Fear of Rejection Posted : 26 Mar, 2013 08:32 PM Rejection can occur for a number of reasons, and to assume that it is God's protection is naive. Don't misunderstand me. It CAN BE God's protection. But I believe that most often it is not. It is not that we're about to marry the wrong person, but rather we ourselves are the wrong person or we misrepresent ourselves. ;) People are just like apples. Some apples are nice on the outside and black inside. Some apples look dirty outside but are good inside. And some look perfect inside and outside. And some look dirty and bad and are really bad inside and outside. Just because something looks bad doesn't mean it is bad. First impressions are important, but they are not always 100% correct. We can't do anything about others, but we can improve ourselves to avoid rejection in the future. So, that's what we should do, I think. Post Reply
