So, I went to a casino for the first time and to be honost had a blast and can't wait to go again. I'd say there's only a 30% chance I'd bring a date there, but still amuse myself with the idea. This is more of an amusement than a serious consideration, however part of the odd amusement/humor to this is that there actually exists a consideration to it . Your thoughts?

Are you asking our thoughts on bringing a date to a casino? Or, asking our thoughts on going to a casino in general?

My thought on the first: Ask FIRST.

My thought on the second: Why don't you just stay home and flush a wad of money down the toilet? You accomplish the same thing, and you can stay in your slippers and save on gas when you do it.

I agree with Godslamb. Personally, it would be a red flag to me if I dated someone who enjoyed gambling. I would not expect to have a serious relationship with anyone who would take me to a casino or a bar for a date.

I'd be more impressed if a guy got a thrill out of giving some money to charity, like donating to a food bank, Angel Tree, etc.

I am not condemning you for going there or even having a good time, but I would be concerned if someone made a habit of it. (even if they could well afford it.)

I have been in casinos before and had fun. I look at it like any other entertainment. if I were going to go to a movie or a show or do something else that costs money why not play the slots or a board game? To me it's no different. I always put a limit on what I would spend and when that was spent I left. I can see how someone could get addicted to it though. It really is sort of boring if losing all the time, but when winning a little it can be a blast and some people may not be able to stop. I think it is extremely important to set ground rules for yourself, decide beforehand how much to spend and when to stop. I do tithe and give offerings and think that all Christians should do that because God commands it and blesses the portion that is left after the tithe. I do financial counseling at my church. I help people set up a "spending plan" otherwise known as a budget, that they can live with. We always include money for entertainment. It is an unrealistic budget that leaves out an expense that will come up.
