So, James just what is the quiz suppose to prove? If I answer all your questions will you be able to answer questions I put forth to you with spiritual insight?

The questions you ask do not require spiritual knowledge or undertstanding of scripture, so what the purpose and intent?

Et this is one of the tools that they use to energize reasoning and of course you would see the light, opps there is no light.

Whether you know it or not the lengthy articles are also a common practice to appeal to your reasoning faculties and logic.

James,

Once again you try to use Clever Wording to manipulate The Truth!

What I see in these questions are questions about Gods Sovereignty.

Ive already gone over this in another Threadbutwhy notlets do it again.

(sorry about your quizit looked Funmaybe you can use it at Sunday School on the other kids in your class?)

As to Sovereignty:

God is All Powerful! There is Nothing that can stand in Gods Way! When God Wills something to Happenit WILL HAPPEN!

The problem is that you (Calvinist) believe that

EVERYTHING that Happens Occurs because it is Gods Will. God CAUSES Everything that happens to HAPPEN! Not a Blade of Grass moves without God Causing it to Move.

Thereforewhen you speak of Gods Willthere can only be One Interpretation.

Thisbelief is convenient because it allows Predestination. God cannot see into the future because God Creates the Future and thusly God could not have seen into the future and therefore have Pre-knowledge of who would or would not Believe and then be able to Choose these people before they were born (whewsay that real fast three times).

This is convenient because then you (Calvinist) can say that Scripture tells us that God Chose people to become The Elect.

This belief is also Necessary to claim that man has no Free Will.

If God Causes Everything to kappenwell thenthat mistake I just did was Gods Will and even though I think or feel that I have Free Willit is not True!

Againthis belief has to be there in order for you (Calvinist) to claim that if

God dont do itit wont get done!

In other wordsif God does not somehow (I wont use the word FORCE) get man to Accept The Holy Spiritohbaloneythe only way is for God to FORCE THE HOLY SPIRIT on man!

Has anyone been able to follow all this?

Calvinism gets quite Convoluted. Anywayback to my point:

Gods Will shows itself in three different ways

God DECIDES to do something and God does it (nothing can Stop this).

This is the Biblical Sense of Gods Will Be Done.

God DESIRES this to happen (Our Salvation), but allows us Free Will in choosing whether to Cooperate.

In this sense God wants..He Desiresfor All of Mankind (His Children) to be Saved. God Desires that we LOVE Himbut God is not going to Force Us to do it. As Powerful as God isGod allows us to say No to Him.

God PERMITS something Bad to happen (Hurricane Katrina).

God has His Reasons for allowing Bad things to happen to Good People. Oftentimes Good comes out of these events.

This is where you Err in thinkingJamesbut then you have no Choice (thats funnyno choice)...because you are a Calvinist.

James replies:

I answer questions.

ET said:

James replies:

That is exactly the point! There are HUGE amounts of Scripture that say that God is sovereign in election, that Jesus died for His people, the ones the Father Gave him, and that mankind is born totally spiritually dead, with a will enslaved to sin, etc.

The point is THEY ARE BEING REJECTED. A certain percentage of Christians will REJECT what they know is true because THEY DON'T LIKE WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS.

They like pretending that there is some deep down good part in themselves that chose Jesus. They like pretending that Jesus died for everyone, because it sounds nice and sweet to them.

There are basic truths in the Bible that even some Christians reject, because although God has opened their eyes, and put a new heart in them, they still have a sinful nature, and SOME of them will REJECT things they don't like even though they are shown huge lists of Scriptures on it.

In Christ,

James

Wow James!

Your BLINDNESS is Tragic!

What you are accusing Others is just what you are doing.

Show me...Line for Line...where I am Wrong.

I have shown you (and Calvinism's) ERRORS...show me mine (in the same Way I have pointed out yours).

This is how a Debate is done...not "wagging one's finger" and shouting...

"Naa...Naaa...Na...na...na"

You really are "Under a Spell"...it is Frightening to see.

James replies:

Archimedes, when you read the word "all" in ANY writing, it hardly ever means "everyone who ever lived".

The word "all" can mean "all of a set" or "all the people in this group".

When you post a Bible verse that says that "God desires that all come to repentance", that verse was WRITTEN TO A GROUP OF CHRISTIANS.

It was NOT written to everyone in the world, just Christians.

God desires that ALL OF HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE should repent and trust in Christ.

Secondly, you have admitted that because of the Fall, all mankind is born in sin, and spiritually dead.

But, you still insist mankind has a free will ability to repent and trust in Christ.

Now, Jesus in John 6 says that NO ONE CAN, and you say anyone can!

Just what do you think "spiritually DEAD" means?

And lastly lets not forget YOU ARE arguing against Augustine.

See, that is a huge problem with Roman Catholicism. Rome contradicts the early Roman church in several areas.

Predestination is just one of them.

In Christ,

James

"James replies: Archimedes, when you read the word "all" in ANY writing, it hardly ever means "everyone who ever lived". The word "all" can mean "all of a set" or "all the people in this group"."

So... the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, should really be written as, the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to some men? Or Romans 5:18, Therefore as by the offence of one [judgment came] upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto justification of life, should really be written, therefore as by the offence of one, judgment came upon all men to condemnation, even so by the righteousness of one, the free gift came upon some men unto justification of life? Never mind that all means all in the first part of that verse, and all in the second part can't possibly be all, because the free gift is only for some.

James continues - "When you post a Bible verse that says that "God desires that all come to repentance", that verse was WRITTEN TO A GROUP OF CHRISTIANS. It was NOT written to everyone in the world, just Christians. "God desires that ALL OF HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE should repent and trust in Christ."

Now why would God desire Christians to come to repentance, as in salvation? You make no sense. That verse was written to sinners, and yes, God desires that all come to repentance, but not all will. Thus the reason "desire" is used. If that verse was written for those future elect, desire would have no meaning in that verse because there is no wishing they be saved. They already are. God determined it and God forced it.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. According to you James, God does not love the world, and neither is this verse written to the world, but only part of the world and gave His son to only some of those in the world; those that God will make believe in Him.

Mark 14:30 And Jesus said unto him (Peter), Verily I say unto thee, that thou, today, even this night before the rooster crow twice shall deny me thrice.

Questions:

A. Could Peter not have denied Jesus three times before the rooster crowed twice?

Answer here: ____________________________

B. Did Jesus make Peter deny him, or did Peter do it of his own free will?

Answer here: ____________________________

This is kind of a funny verse and question to put in this post, b/c common sense would tell you the answer to both questions. Apparently to Calvinists (or those that say they;re NOT Calvinists, but follow his teachings to a T) this verse is saying that Jesus is giving Peter the COMMAND to deny Him 3 times before the rooster crowed. Thats not the case. Jesus was making a prediction, of sorts, altho He already knew that Peter would deny Him. He is telling Peter what would happen, not commanding Peter to do it. Besides, Peter was only asked 3 times if he knew Christ. He probably would have denied Him more if he were asked more times. So, the answer to the 2nd question is, No, Jesus DID NOT make Peter deny him 3 times, He was simply telling Peter what would happen when Peter was given the chance to stand up for Jesus or deny Him. So, therefore, YES! Peter did deny Jesus of his OWN FREE WILL.

John 3:16 is not that hard to understand, yet Calvinists (or those that say they arent Calvinists, but follow his teachings to a T) make out like its soooooo hard. "For God so loved the WORLD (or insert your name here) that He gave His only begotten Son that WHOSOEVER (or insert your name here) believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everylasting life." If God would have meant this verse to be ONLY for "the elect" I really, really think He would have had John write that God's love and Jesus' death was ONLY for "the elect" . God has loved, loves now and will love EVERY man, woman, boy and girl that He sent His Son to die for ANYONE that will believe on Him, that they should not perish, but have everlasting life.

SavedInChrist71,

AMEN!

James has to Change Scripture in order to make Calvin's New Gospel work.

God does everything within His Dignity (even Sacrificing His Only SON) to get us to "Come to HIM!

Thank you for your Insight.

James and All Calvinists are willing to take their Lie to the Grave. It is so Sad and Tragic,,,I cannot Understand why?

Are they All under some kind of Spell or Trance?

Is it some kind of Malfunction in their Brains...like Dyslexia?

Thank you again for your Post.
