"But now, as to whether there will be a resurrection of the deadhaven't you ever read about this in the Scriptures? Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, God said, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' So he is the God of the living, not the dead."
Matthew 22:3132
When I book a flight, I always try to avoid stopovers. The reason being is that you can get stuck in airports, especially in a place that has weather fronts that move in. All of a sudden, a little transfer to the next plane is changed, and you are there for hourssometimes overnight. So I always try to get a direct flight.
When a Christian dies, it is a direct flight to heaven; there are no stopovers. The moment we take our last breath on Earth, we take our first breath in heaven. We go into the presence of God.
Remember that Jesus said to the thief on the cross, "I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43). When the apostle Paul spoke of departing and being with Christ, he didn't say, "I am going to depart and then go into soul sleep." Rather, he said, "I'm torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live" (Philippians 1:2324).
So when we get to heaven, will we have the same bodies? The answer is not exactly. Our resurrection bodies will not be our earthly bodies merely resuscitated, but will be the likeness of the earthly body glorified. God will recover from the dust a body with a definite relationship to one's earthly body, but transformed to suit our new environment.
We are told in 1 Corinthians 15:53: "For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies." There is a bodily resurrection. The very essence of the word "resurrection" speaks of the body. So our bodies will be raised.
Ella, why do I say that Moses and Elijah could NOT be the two witnesses during the tribulation:
They are souls now (spiritual bodies). Because their human bodies died!!!!
They should be resurrected yet!!!! And when they will be resurrected with all Christians, they cannt die!!! Their bodies will be immortal like body of angels and Jesus, according to the Scripture.
It means the two witnesses during the tribulation could be ONLY human men who didnt die yet!!!!!! It means they are definitely not Moses and Elijah!!!!!!
Bahira said: Ella, why do I say that Moses and Elijah could NOT be the two witnesses during the tribulation:
Ella syas: and guess what Bahira: There is no where in the Bible that says Moses and Elijah will be the two witnesses during the tribulations... At Lest I have not read no such thing, only people guessing as of God has told them who the two witnesses will and who the virgin will be and many other things they guess at concerning the tribulation abd the Book of Revelation.
That's why God says if you do not understand what it is you are reading in Daniels and Revelation then its best you not read those books until God opens your understanding. Otherwise, you will get confused and twist around and your mind starts playing trick on you trying to figure out what all these things are about.
Many false prophecies are being spoken out concerning the tribulation and God's word in Daniel and Revelation, and those who are speaking have not even gotten what God speaks in the books of Matthew through Jude under their belts with spiritual knowledge... not to speak of the prophetic words in Daniel and Revelation... for sure, they are not hearing PROPHETICALLY from God, they are hearing their own words PATHETICALLY:ROFL:
But God called us to meditate on the Scripture day and night and we are doing it.
If we would not mediate, we would not know anything!!!!!
The prophecies are clear in some sense and they are useful for us. They are great facts to see who God is.
The prophecies are like miseries which could be and should be understood by us!!!!
Because God said them to us!!!
For example, I will show you two prophecies speaking about God Jesus. God said these prophecies to show us who is His Son and even these prophecies is the basis of our faith like the prophecy in Isaiah 53 about the death of Jesus!!!!
Look how god shared His conversation with the Son of God over 1,000 years before His actual birth on earth:
Psalm 2
The Messiahs Triumph and Kingdom
1 Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying,
3 Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.
4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
6 Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree:
The LORD has said to Me,
You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
9 You shall break[a] them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potters vessel.
10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Serve the LORD with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, :hearts: lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
Psalm 110
A Psalm of David.
1 The LORD :excited: said to my Lord, :excited:
Sit at My right hand, :excited:
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.
2 The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion.
Rule in the midst of Your enemies!
3 Your people shall be volunteers
In the day of Your power;
In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning,
There many exceptions to Hebrews 9:27, although these words are usually true.The many exceptions to the general rule of Heb 9:27 include the 7 NT people who were raised to life in the NT including Lazarus and then died a second time. Also every saint who is alive at the 2nd Coming of Jesus will not even die once!!
Hebrews 9:27:"Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment."
WHO WILL BE GOD'S TWO WITNESSES {REV 11:3} OR MEN {REV 11:6} OR PROPHETS {REV 11:10} DURING THE 1260-DAY GREAT TRIBULATION??
Zechariah 4:11,14: "Then I asked the angel, 'What are these *TWO* OLIVE TREES {See Rev 11:4 below} on the right and left of the lamp stand?'... the angel said, 'These are the TWO who are anointed to serve the Lord of the earth!'" Rev 11:3-6: {God said to John} "I will give power to My *TWO* witnesses and they will prophesy for 1260 days clothed in sackcloth! These are the *TWO OLIVE TREES {See Zech 4:11,14 above} and the 2 lamp stands that stand before the Lord of the earth. If anyone tries to harm them, fire will come from their mouths to destroy their enemies. This is how anyone who tries to harm them must die {See 2 Kings 1:9-12; Num 16:31-35}. These *MEN* will have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying {See 1 Kings 17:1; Luke 4:25; James 5:17}; and they will have power to turn the waters into blood {See Exodus 7:15-23} and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they wish."
Moses and Elijah witnessed to 3 Apostles on the mount of Transfiguration when Moses & Elijah spoke to Jesus about his departure or Ascension, which Jesus was to bring to fulfillment in Jerusalem 40 days after His resurrection. Luke 9:30,31: TWO MEN Moses and Elijah, appeared in GLORIOUS SPLENDOR talking with Jesus. They spoke about His Departure {Or Ascension} which He was about to bring to fulfillment in Jerusalem." Moses and Elijah were most assuredly the *TWO MEN* dressed in white who witnessed at the Departure or Ascension of Jesus in Acts 1:10,11: "They looked up into the sky as He {Jesus} was going when suddenly *TWO MEN* dressed in WHITE stood beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into Heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into Heaven!"
And then in Luke 24:2b-6b we read: They did not find the body of Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly *TWO MEN*... stood beside them... And the *MEN* said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? HE IS NOT HERE; HE HAS RISEN!!" Jesus says in John 8:17b: "The testimony of *TWO MEN IS VALID* and of course the testimony of Moses and Elijah is just about as valid as you can get. And so the coming of God's *TWO MEN* or witnesses to prophesy for 1260 days {See Rev 11:3-7} will be their FOURTH appearance as God's 2 witnesses or MEN. And the reason that their names are not mentioned in Luke 24:3 and Acts 1:10 and Rev 11:3-12 is that the Father, Moses and Elijah want us to glorify *NO ONE ELSE BUT JESUS*!!
Moses and Elijah will most likely witness miraculously to people in the uttermost parts of the earth in all 6,000 languages. Presently the Bible has been translated into about 2,000 languages from the inspired Greek and Hebrew manuscripts and faith comes from hearing or reading the sword of the spirit which is the Word of God. The Bible still has not been translated into about 4,000 languages and Rev 5:9b and Rev 7:9,13,14 must be completely fulfilled. Surely the courageous tribulation saints will help Moses and Elijah spread God's Word. They will do a fantastic job since according to Rev 7:9,14 there will be a great multitude from EVERY TRIBE AND LANGUAGE who will be washed in the Blood of the Lamb.
Moses & Elijah will be dressed in SACKCLOTH which is appropriate since the Tribulation saints will be very poor, for they will not be able to buy or sell anything as per Rev 13:17. Moses and Elijah will certainly speak the Word of God with great power and love. They will not add or take words away from the Prophetic Words of God {See Rev 22:18,19}; and they will encourage God's courageous saints to adhere to *ALL* of the NT commandments {See Rev 12:13b; 14:12b; Matt 28:20a; John 14:15,21,23; I John 2:2-5} with love {See Matt 5:39-48 & Rom 12:17-21} in the face of severe and hostile persecution.
Moses and Elijah will begin their 1260-day testimony {Rev 11:3} 3  days before the coming of 666 & the 1260-day Great Tribulation and 1263  days before the Last Day. {*THE FIRST END-TIME EVENT*} Moses and Elijah will warn us of the coming of 666 & his False Prophet. It seems very appropriate that God will send His TWO PROPHETS {See Rev 11:10b} to warn and prepare His saints for the coming of Satan, 666 and the Great Tribulation for in Amos 3:7 we read: "Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the PROPHETS!" GOD'S PROPHETS are mentioned 8 times in Revelation: Revelation 10:7; 11:10; 11:18; 16:6; 18:20,24; 22:6 & 22:9. Whereas; preachers, pastors and evangelists are not even mentioned once in Revelation! God will allow 666 to martyr Moses and Elijah {See Rev 11:7,8} right where their Lord was crucified. {At the new *HOLY PLACE* where Jesus shed his blood for our sins} 3  days later Moses and Elijah will rise to heaven just hours before the 7th angel sounds the 7th Trump at the 2nd coming of Jesus.{See Rev 11:11-18}
Mark 13:14: Jesus says, When you see 666 standing where he does not belong {At the New Holy Place}....then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. {See Rev 11:7,8 & Rev 16:15} John 2:19: Jesus said, Destroy this TEMPLE and I will raise it again in 3 days. This HOLY PLACE is where Jesus became the chief cornerstone {Eph 2:20,21} and we are living stones {I Pet 2:5 & 2 Cor 6:16} in the LAST TEMPLE made without hands! {Acts 17:24}
Certainly, the old Jerusalem and the old Temple site are NO LONGER HOLY PLACES. Hebrews 13:12-14: "Jesus suffered outside the city gate to make the people HOLY THROUGH HIS BLOOD. Let us, then, go to Him outside the city, bearing the disgrace He bore. For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the CITY {THE NEW JERUSALEM} that is to come." {See Heb 11:10,13-16; Heb 12:22; Rev 3:12b; 21:2,10-27; 22:1-5; 2 Pet 3:13} Gal 4:25,26: "Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem {Called Sodom in Rev 11:8} because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is ABOVE is free, and she is our mother." {The New Jerusalem}
Sorry, RIchard, God DOES NOT SPECIFY who the two witnesses will be... you and others who claim THEY HAVE THE ANSWERS and that it to be Moses and Elijah or Enoch are doing nothing but GUESS WORK! Assuming this is who it will be.
There IS NOT ONE SCRIPTURE passage that indentifies the two witnesses as Moses or Elijah or Enoch,and God has not spoken any such thing in His word, or to anyone at this time about who it will be, and it is obvious that He intended not to disclose who the two will be, otherwise He would have told us.
You're doing nothing but guess work based on what others who think they speak prophetically God's word, and your own agreement with what they speak! Not giving a true prophetic word whatsoever! cuz, you and no one else knows who it will be the two witnesses, and scripture DOES NOT SAY OR GIVE ANY CLUES.
Just because God says Elijah will come, this does not mean he will come according to this passage, so you nor does nyone know when Elijah will come according to when God sends him forth or who the two witnesses will be according to this passage... guess work ain't bible, nor is it prophetic speaking from God.
God has many faithful servants on the same order of Moses and Elijah who will come long after we are dead and gone, just as God tells us that He has a faithful people who will serve and worship and praise Him in total spirit and truth who have not yet been born. So you nor does anyone know anything more than guess work about what is going to happen and for the most part what everything that is wrtten in the book of Revelation even mean, you know, not understand only what is written and what others THINK they understand, but do not know bsed on man's limited knowledge and man's own interpretation of God's word, and most is not based on revelation of the Holy Spirit.
Being translated is not the same as seeing death on earth... So, Do you know how many servants of God who were translated into heaven, and did not see earthly death?
OR can you DETERMINE how many more OF God's faithful servants will be received directly into heaven before Jesus comes, and will not experience an earthly death?...
THE ANSWER IS NO!... I DON'T THINK YOU KNOW NOR CAN ANYONE DETERMINE THESE THINGS OF GOD!
Of course Lazarus did die two times as did the other 6 people who were raised to life in the NT.
We know that many will not see death who will be raised with Jesus at His 2nd Coming:
Luke 21:26:-28: Jesus says, "Men will feint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near!":applause::peace:
"I Thess 4:16,17 "The dead in Christ will rise first. After that, WE WHO ARE STILL **ALIVE** and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever!!" :applause::peace:
Yeah, Richard, but lets not get confused in what scripture is saying. It does not tell us who these two witnesses will be either one of these men or any man.
It could very well be of two women or two children, or a man and a woman, or two of those not yet born. We just do not know these things of God. And God does not tell us if these two witness have died an earthly death or if they were translation into heaven, or if they have been in heaven with the Lord since the beginning of time.
But one thng we do know when reading Revelation chpater 11, is that they will be killed and raised again, so that does let us know that they may have never died on earth, because when Jesus comes all who are in Jesus will come back to life in a glorified spirit body. God tells us in Rev. chapter 11, that there will be two people who will stand BEFORE God, and they will be killed and raised again.
So just as we die bodily and will be rasied again in bodlily and spirit form. Just as Jesus died in bodily, and was rasied in bodily and spirit form. The two witnesses will also died in bodlilyform and be rasied again in bodily and spirit form and will reign with the Lord forever.
Therefore, maybe you can answer these questions, although we cannot put God in a box because He alone is God all by Himself and He works things according to His purpose, plans, and will.
But I ask you, if the two witnesses stand before God, if God is spirit and no human has ever been able to see Him face to face because of the His brightness of His glory, if the two witness are in human bodily form, how can a human face the brightness of God's glory? And how can a glorified spirit body be killed?
Revelation 1:3: Blessed is the one who reads the Words of this Prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it!
Revelation 3:14: Jesus says, These are the Words of the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Ruler of God's creation!
Revelation 22:9,10: The angel said to John, I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets and all who keep the Words of this Book! Then he told me, Do not seal up the Words of the Prophecy of this Book!
Revelation 22:7,12,13,16,18,19: Jesus says, Behold I am coming soon. Blessed is he who keeps the Words of the Prophecy in this Book...Behold, I am coming soon. My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done... I am the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End....I, Jesus have sent My angel to give *YOU {You here is Plural} this testimony {All of Revelation} **FOR THE CHURCHES**!!.... I warn everyone who hears the Words of the Prophecy of this Book: If anyone **ADDS** anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book {Including eternal Hell} And if any one **TAKES WORDS AWAY** from this Book of Prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the Tree of Life and in the Holy City {The New Jerusalem}, which are described in this Book!
Deuteronomy 4:2: The Lord says, Do not **ADD** to what I command you and do not **SUBTRACT** from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God!
WHO WILL BE GOD'S TWO WITNESSES {REV 11:3} OR MEN {REV 11:6} OR PROPHETS {REV 11:10} DURING THE 1260-DAY GREAT TRIBULATION??
