Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Isreal, saidht the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, said the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever.
Only acknowledge thin iniquity, that thou has transgressed against the Lord thy God, and has scattered thy ways to the stangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, said the Lord. Turn, O backsliding children, said the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I wil take you one of a city, and two of a family and I will bring you to Zion.

Romans 8:28-39 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (30) Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. (31) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (32) He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (33) Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. (34) Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. (35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (36) As it is written: "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALL DAY LONG; WE ARE ACCOUNTED AS SHEEP FOR THE SLAUGHTER." (37) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (38) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, (39) nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(14) "Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

Hebrews 6:17-19 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, (18) that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. (19) This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
God indwells us. we have become the property of God, in view of the fact that we are ransomed by Christ. God therefore will begin to deal with us if we continues in sin. It is thus impossible for a born from above believer to backslide, to again live as the unsaved person that he was before he had become a new creature in Christ
5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.
I always think of this verse that tells me God will never leave me. I am sure there will be others who have posts of verses which can be interpreted as He will leave us to hell even if we are saved. I mean, possibly yes, we could lose our salvation.
As a saved person I don't feel as if anything could turn me away from him but I haven't "been through" everything I will go through yet so I can't say I wouldn't deny Him. I pray to grow strong in Him so that I can face any trial without permanently turning away from Him.
It's a hard one for me because I still find things in the bible that keep me learning. It's as if new things appear, and I guess they do when He is ready for me to learn certain things.
Has anyone here read Hosea?? Hosea is a picture of God and us well isreal but god and Israel is a picture of us and Jesus..
This story is a perfect picture of back sliding and Gods mercy..
It is also a perfect picture of how God draws us, I dont have it right here to quote word for word but essentialy when hoseas wife was doing her "whoredoms" hosea was taking care of her anyway, for a little while but when she didnt turn from her wickedness he began to take away things her flax and so on he brought her to a place where she would say
" I will go back to my first husband because it was better when I was with him" (paraphrased) this is an example of Gods drawing us to him.. this is one of the ways he brings us to a place of repentence
Yes PJ but just because he is married to the back slider doesnt mean he will take them to heaven if they dont repeant it just means GOD WONT BREAK HIS COVENANT
