The Statement of Faith--- at my Church
Posted : 27 Dec, 2011 06:14 PM

We belirve the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in Three Persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Blessed Hope, Which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return. We believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is through Repentance and Faith in the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for Personal Salvation. We believe that redemptive work of Christ on the cross provided Healing for the human body in answer to Believing prayer. We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it. We believe in the Sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Holy and a separate life in this present word.

Amen

NOTE: We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it.

So according to this, If you are "Saved" then all you have to do is ask God for the Holy Ghost ...Wouldn't you say????

Well, first off, the Bible says that if you don't have the Holy Spirit, then you are not saved.

The statement of faith is good until you get to that part.

What church are you a member of?

In Christ,

James

Here is my church's statement of faith:

What do we believe?

Covenant of Grace Church adopts The Westminster Confession of Faith together with its Larger and Shorter Catechisms as a detailed statement of our beliefs. Those wishing a more complete declaration of our beliefs are referred to this source. Westminster Confession. Among other equally biblical truths, Covenant of Grace Church maintains and believes the following tenets of faith and doctrine:

1

The plenary Divine inspiration of the Scriptures in the original languages, their consequent inerrancy and infallibility and, as the Word of God, the supreme and final authority in faith and life.

2

There is but one only living and true God who is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable, in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.

3

There are three persons in the Godhead: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory.

4

Man was created in the image of God, but fell from the estate in which he was originally created by sinning against God.

5

God did not leave man in an estate of sin and misery, but entered into a covenant of grace, to deliver him out of the estate of sin and misery and into the estate of salvation by a redeemer.

6

The only redeemer of God's people is the Lord Jesus Christ, who, being the eternal Son of God, became man, being conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin Mary, and born of her, yet without sin; and so was and continues to be God and man in two distinct natures and one person forever (Rom. 9:5; John 1:1-3; Heb. 1:8; Luke 1:27-35; Col. 2:9; Heb. 7:24,25). Jesus lived a perfectly sinless life and died on the cross as an sacrifice for our sins. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God, the Father as our high priest making continual intercession for us (Hebrews 7:24,25; 10:12-14). He will return bodily on the last day.

7

Since man is born with original sin (Romans 5:12-19), he has no power or will to respond to God apart from the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 3:10-29; 8:7; Eph. 2:1-10; Col. 2:13; 1 Cor. 2:14; 12:3; Titus 3:3-6; John 6:44, 63-65). Consequently, salvation is completely of God's grace.

8

Faith is the avenue by which man receives the grace of God for salvation. Faith is a gift that comes as a result of the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit (Eph. 2:8,9; Acts 13:48; 16:14; 18:27; Phil. 1:29; 2 Thess. 3:2).

9

The present supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit forms and increases the Church by regeneration and sanctification, and dwells in it as the principle of the new life (Eph. 1:13,14,22,23; 2:22; 1 Cor. 3:16; 12:3-13). The Holy Spirit also testifies to Christ and leads the church into all truth. By doing this, he manifests the glory of God, increases the knowledge of the Savior, keeps the Church from error, and prepares her for her eternal destiny (John 14:26; 16:13,14; Acts 5:32; Heb. 10:15; 1 John 2:27).

10

There will be a bodily resurrection of the dead in the last day. The believer will be resurrected to everlasting joy with the Lord; the unbeliever will be resurrected to judgment and everlasting punishment (2 Thess. 1:6-10).

In Christ,

James

9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be " Saved."

10) For with the Heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation.

17) So then Faith cometh by heariny, and hearing by the Word of God.

Romans 10 cpter

Faith comes first; then You are "Saved".

No mention of the Holy Spirit yet.

This is Scripture.

I do not care about statements of faith.

You can believe them if you want.

I would rather trust Yeshua,to save me from the wrath of YHWH against sin(s).

I would rather trust the Word of YHWH then trust any statement of faith.

Shalom

James the spirit of Christ comes with the new birth! the Holy Ghost Babtism is spearate from the new birth!

Furthermmore does anyone even realize what babtisim suggests? It suggests complete submersion in the Holy Ghost

so therefor we are dipped in the Holy Ghost and coverd completly in Him thats the Holy Ghost babtisim and when it happems your FILLED that means all the way up not just indwelet which suggests He lives ther but does not fill your entire vessel! RIGHT?

If you experience the new birth you then have the spirit of Christ thats not the Holy Ghost babtism
