You do not need a devotional! Stop buying devotionals, they are an insult to the Torah and Elohim!

Little children,
There are some on here and in the world today, that are encouraging the sheep to buy and use devotionals, and/or to read the messages written in them.
It is sacrilegious and blasphemy for one to infer or state that a book with regurgitated messages, can replace the fresh revelation of the Torah [Old Testament] and B'rit Hadasha [New Testament].
[In fact, quit buying all books that seek to provide religious instruction and counsel.]
Get rid of all devotionals and there will not be any need to turn from the Torah and B'rit Hadasha, to man:
"Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD." [Yirmiyahu/Jeremiah 17:5]
The Word of Elohim is always to be sought and read, as the sole Authority for faith and counsel, and it is an insult for one to think that Abba would not give you, individually, fresh anointed revelation, is you ask Him:
"If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" [Lukos/Luke 11:11-13]
It is a false gospel, which empowers man and seeks to strip away the importance of Elohim speaking directly to His sheep. In fact, you will not hear from another, nor can you:
"My sheep hear my voice".. "and the voice of a stranger they will not follow". [John 10:27 & John 10:5]
Revelation 18 tells us that the time is coming when men shall not buy the Harlot's merchandise anymore.
It is fornication, to take the Word and use it for gain. Is this not the same thing that Simon the sorcerer did, when he offered Peter gold for the gifts of the Holy Spirit?l:
"And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money." [Ma'asey/Acts 8:18-21]
Do not buy devotionals or any book, other than the Bible, for that is an insult to the Father, Who has given you everything in His Wondrous Book of the Ages, the Compendium of Eternal Wisdom, the Holy Bible!
You do not need to buy some hypocrites "devotional"; ask Abba to teach you and show you everything you need to know about life.
He will do it!
He will talk with you and teach you all things:
"It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me." [Yohanan/John 6:45]
You are not to use a devotional!:
"THIS BOOK OF THE LAW SHALL NOT DEPART OUT OF THY MOUTH, BUT THOU SHALT MEDITATE THEREIN DAY AND NIGHT!" [Joshua 1:8]
If you are meditating on the Torah DAY and NIGHT, do you have any time for another book of regurgitated messages?
Do not get me wrong, the Word of Elohim is important where ever it is written, or spoken. But this notion of books taking the place of the Word of Elohim, is wicked!
"MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS GIVE THYSELF WHOLLY TO THEM THAT THY PROFITING MAY APPEAR UNTO ALL!" [I Timotios/Timothy 4:15]

"MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS GIVE THYSELF WHOLLY TO THEM THAT THY PROFITING MAY APPEAR UNTO ALL!" [I Timotios/Timothy 4:15]
"GIVE THYSELF WHOLLY TO THEM (the scriptures)!"
Psalm 143:10 (KJV)
[[[ 10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. ]]]
Galatians 1:12 (KJV)
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, [[[ but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. ]]]
John 14:22-26 (KJV)
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
*** 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, [[[ he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. ]]]

"Do not buy devotionals or any book, other than the Bible, for that is an insult to the Father, Who has given you everything in His Wondrous Book of the Ages, the Compendium of Eternal Wisdom, the Holy Bible!"
This is legislation. It is binding a command upon the conscience of others. It is the essence and heart of legalism.
I appreciate your zeal for the Word of God. I don't appreciate your legalism.
Since you are passing NEW laws for us in the name of God, you should be diligent to offer a very detailed explanation of what this command covers so that all of us do not err.
Does it cover ALL books? Classics, Biographies, Fiction, etc?
Does it cover ONLY religious books? If so, which ones? Devotionals? Commentaries? Systematics? History books?
Would a hymnal also be forbidden under your new law?
How about Bibles themselves? Which version are you authorizing for our use? Which are you forbidding?
Does this only include books that we purchase? What about ones that we get for free? Are those forbidden, too?
Does this extend to blogs, websites, forums and the like? Should we avoid those as well?
Should I have even read your post here? Since I am to "GIVE THYSELF WHOLLY TO THEM (the scriptures)"

WIT shared ~ Since you are passing NEW laws for us in the name of God, you should be diligent to offer a very detailed explanation of what this command covers so that all of us do not err.
*** No one is passing "New Laws" here...only sharing a Truth...and many will not Hearit...See it or Believe it...
Exd 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
*** Are Books...CD's...TV's...Cell Phones...Computers...etc...etc...a Type of "other god" ???
1Cr 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
*** "I will not be brought "under" the "power" of ANY"...xo

"No one is passing "New Laws" here...only sharing a Truth"
I respectfully disagree. Even a cursory reading of the OP says otherwise.
.."Are Books...CD's...TV's...Cell Phones...Computers...etc...etc...a Type of "other god"
I imagine for some people that they are.... just as their kids, their spouse, their job, their dog, their car, etc. might be their gods....
However, we should be cautious in commanding "DO NOT purchase such things for that is an insult to the Father" simply because they MIGHT be inappropriately idolized by some.

Amen!
It is blasphemy to usurp the Authority of the Holy Spirit, ALONE, as the ONE to impart truth.
"But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come." [John 16:13]
The Word says it all --------> "HE" not "THEM". The word HE is used in this one verse SIX times to make the point, that THE HOLY SPIRIT and not man, or men, imparts truth to the souls of Abba's Predestined Seed, His bachiry and eklektos, His yahadim!
Don't you think that Elohim means it? He repeated Him Self SIX TIMES!!!!!
