"What Must I Do To Be Saved"Posted : 11 Oct, 2012 03:13 PMThe Bible tells us that when we die we will spend eternity (a very long time, wouldnt you agree?) in either paradise or torment. Matthew 25:46. If we search the Bible, with an open mind and heart, we will discover what God says about how to gain eternal life in heaven. If not, maybe we are relying upon what friends or family or churches have taught or told us. Is this wise? Or should we investigate for ourselves? If you were buying a car, would you rely upon what you were told or would you check it out for yourself? If you were buying a home, would you rely upon what you are told or would you check it for yourself? Eternity is much more important than earthly matters. Lets look at what God says, week by week, to see how what we might think compares with what the Bible says. Then, remember, God promises that if we seek him we will find him! I Chronicles 28:9, II Chronicles 15:2, Proverbs 8:17. |

"What Must I Do To Be Saved"Posted : 11 Oct, 2012 04:38 PMEphesians 1:4-11 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (5) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, (6) To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (7) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (8) Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; (9) Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: (10) That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: (11) In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: |

"What Must I Do To Be Saved"Posted : 12 Oct, 2012 12:40 PMPredestinate mean to make a choice or selection God's eternal and immutable decree to choose from sinners those whom He will save according to thier choice to choose Jesus Christ as thier Savior, providng the source of their salvation by grace and faith to believe through Christ, and the means through the automatically filling of the Holy Spirit's regenerationwork in the new believer, so that the new believer will be born again from above in Christ. |

"What Must I Do To Be Saved"Posted : 12 Oct, 2012 12:55 PMYou say that Dove, but the bible says that He predestined us for adoption according to the purpose of HIS will. Now you can say that predestination means that He chose those who chose Him, but that sort of goes against the definition of predestination doesn't it? They weren't predestined if they planned their own destiny. Rather it says they were predestined. If you are going to say predestination doesn't mean what it means then you need to show that from the scriptures where that word is used. If context dictates that predestination doesn't truly mean predestination then I will concede that point. However that is your job, to show from scripture that it doesn't really mean what it says. |

"What Must I Do To Be Saved"Posted : 12 Oct, 2012 01:40 PMI don't believe anyone should be content with not being able to give a defense for their beliefs. A glaring reason is the scripture tells us to be ready to give a defense for the hope that is within us. |
