Kindness is a good thing...

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

Knowing it is one thing...putting it into practice is another.

May the Lord truly bless and keep you all!

Are you saying we should be practically living such things? Wouldnt that show we are the deciples of Christ? By the love we have one for another? and express practically in the real world. Even with and especially with those who know not God and His Son Jesus.

LTM, I can see that you are trying to promote the idea of practicality, but listen. Those who have opposed you hear have not done so because we disagree with practicality or are somehow not relational with other believers. We have done so because your emphasis on the practical has been placed above your emphasis on truth. It is as if to say that truth as we see it in scriptures is not practical and therefore we have to tweak it. Many of us see this as a very dangerous slope. We have tried to correct that mindset, but you have placed a wall in front of those who object you. I wonder how practically there can be any peace if that tactic is employed. It's not that I wouldn't love to learn from brothers about practical aspects of Christianity. I am always looking to do so. It just must be grounded in truth. That is what is at the heart of this problem that has existed between you and us. It's as if you make up your mind that God has given you a little nugget about a certain passage and therefore it must be right and those who try to teach a different way must be wrong. This board is for biblical discussion an frankly, not much of that occurs because we are too busy discussing extra-biblical things...topics like "why can't we all just get along?"....I submit that we would all get along better if we had a renewed focus on discussing biblical things by making sure we are within the context in our interpretation of passages and making sure we are considering the original languages when we can. We can live the principles in scripture out in a way that is much more pleasing to God if we first truly understand the principles within their original context and how they relate to us in this day. IMO there can be no discussion on the practicality of a message before the message can be understood. I hope we can move forward in a better way.

Thanks Gud, but i no longer live for the approval of man. I spent well to many years in that. If your desire is to change me then you are barking up the wrong tree. Jesus teaches about two foundations. One built upon the rock and one built upon the sand. When the storms came the one on the rock stands where the one on the sand falls.

What is the difference?

What is the sand and what is the rock in your mind?

He is a rebellious man unable to heed the Word of God or the Godly council of others. Unlearned and unteachable. That is the bottom line.

In your opinion, which is more like a rock and which is more like sand...truth or practicality?

I wasn't saying you should look for approval of man, but pointing to a better way forward. Although you repeatedly say you are for peace, you don't practically live that out. You give lip service to threads like this which highly peace between brothers because it sounds and looks good to others. However you seem to believe truth stops and starts with you so you cannot be taught. With that mind, I submit there will never be peace between you and other believers.
