I realize PhillipJohn that you don't want Christians to read and study church history.

When you are a follower of Charles Finney like you are, it is best that people don't know what the Body of Christ has believed for two thousand years.

Fortunately, there are some Christians who know that Proverbs says that there is wisdom in many counselors, and that the Bible says that God has raised up teachers for our benefit.

God shows mercy upon whom He decides to show mercy on.

To GOD be the glory!

Salvation by GRACE alone, through faith alone, and for

God's Glory alone!

In Christ,

James

John 10

New International Version (NIV)

The Good Shepherd and His Sheep

1 Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him,

and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.

5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a strangers voice. 6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.

14 I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Fatherand I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too

will listen to my voice,

and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

Jesus Speaks of His Sheep Recognizing His VOICE. RECOGNIZING His VOICE!

His Sheep (we Christians) HEAR His VOICE (the Word of God SCRIPTURE) and RECOGNIZE His VOICE and FOLLOW HIM.

It was The Word that DREW Us to CHRIST! The Word that once we heard itwe RECOGNIZED it as Our Shepherds Voice.

As to not having Free Willhow is it that we are Allowed to say No to God? To say No and to turn our back to God? Seems to me that is a Free Will Choice.

Mary could have said No! to God instead of I am the handmaiden

James seems to think that by man having Free Will and making the choice to Follow Christ that somehow that Belittles Gods Graces?

John 6: 67-69 (NIV)

67 You do not want to leave too, do you? Jesus asked the Twelve.

68 Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.

The Apostles CHOSE to stay with Jesus. Let me Repeat that THEY CHOSE to stay with Christ.

It was a Decision made of their Own Free Will! It did not make The Apostle Mighty Christians! It did not Diminish in any way Gods Grace!

I am not sure just what James is trying to say and I will listen to anything he has to say because I am Curious as to how this line of thought came about and why, but as I see it

Without Free Will we are just Puppets being Controlled by God into Loving and Obeying Him. Having Free Will and being able to Choose is what makes it so Wonderful!

To be WILLING to DIE for CHRISTof my own Free Choicewithout Coercion or Mind or Heart altering Influencesother than PURE LOVE for Christ. That (to me) is the Ultimate.

Am I just not getting it? Is there something I am missing?

James your words are lame and dead and have no merit I have never a problem with church history, there is a difference of life and death between church history and reformation theology.
