Fighting The Blues by Pastor Joel Osteen
Especially for Richard... enjoy and be blessed!
We all have times when we wake up in the morning and feel the blahs and blues; we don't feel very excited. But just because we feel those emotions doesn't mean we have to stay there and give in to them; we can shake it off and move forward in faith relying on God's strength.
A great example of someone in the Bible who had a lot of experience in shaking off negative emotions is David. He had to fight being moody, and he was the King of Israel. He had all kinds of opportunity, power and position. He was wealthy, and yet, he still struggled with being depressed and discouraged. That tells me that having to choose to rule over negative feelings is something every person has to deal with. Don't think you're alone if you feel this way. Turn to God and His hope. Don't think, "If I just had more money, if I had a better job, if I had a different spouse, then I'd be in a good mood, Joel. Then I wouldn't have to deal with these feelings." No, you may think that, but every person has to fight the temptation to just give in and live by how we feel.
I love what David did; he talked to himself. He said, "Why are you cast down, oh, my soul? Hope in the Lord." That's Psalm 42. He was saying in everyday language, "David, what are you doing in a bad mood? Stop looking at your problems and start looking at your God." That tells me that true joy is found only in God, when you take your eyes off of how you feel and your circumstances and place them on God and His Word.
Sometimes the best thing we can do is talk to ourselves and speak scripture over our lives. When you're tempted to be in a bad mood, go look in the mirror and say, "Listen here, self. You need to cheer up. Get your joy back, get your peace back. I'm not going to live this day defeated." You have to stay on the offensive. Don't wait until you've been down for three days before you decide to do something about it. The moment you feel that discouragement trying to come on you, rise up and say, "No, I'm not going there." You wake up in the morning and feel the blahs, you say, "Nope, that's not for me. This is going to be a good day. It's the day the Lord has made."
Do you know being in a sour mood because of your problems doesn't make it better, it makes it worse? It puts more pressure on you. It makes you more miserable. A better approach is to say, "God, I'm turning this situation over to You. I'm not going to let it steal my joy. I know You're in control. And at the right time, I believe You'll not only turn it around, but You'll bring me out better off than I was before." That's how we rule over negative feelings. It's simply a decision that we make every day where we have to dig our heels in and decide that our feelings are not going to dictate what kind of day we're going to have. You can rule over your emotions and choose to be in a good mood in spite of how you feel. You can choose what kind of day you're going to have. You can choose how you're going to live your life.
I know some of you, maybe in the natural, have a good reason to be down and discouraged. But don't allow yourself to go there. When you are stable in spite of what's come against you, that's one of the best ways to show God that you're trusting Him.
Decide not to live by how you feel. Go deeper than that and start living by what you know. You know God is in control. You know He's got a great plan for your life. You know His power is greater than any other power. When you wake up and those old negative, discouraging thoughts and feelings come, shake them off. Be done with that roller coaster living. Don't give into your emotions and let them keep you from God's blessings and promotion. Start choosing to live each day in God's peace. Decide that you're going to have a great day. By doing so, you will see God work in your life in greater ways because your eyes are fixed toward Him instead of your situation, and you'll live the life of victory He has in store for you!

I ws unable to pull up the youtube video, but if this is the supposedly rebuke of MacArthur to Joel, I wonder why MacArthur bieng a seasoned senior minister of God in ministry, why didn't MacArthur go personally to Joel and correct him as the BIble teaches the strong Christian in ministry is suppose to do.
Plus, MacArthur has no room to rebuke anyone because he too is known to be a false teacher of the gospel. So how can one who is called a false teacher find space to call another a false teacher?
As for me, I don't think Jole is a false teacher nor do I think MacArthur is a false teacher, they BOTH h=are in error in some thigns they speak, but tis does not qualify neither as fale teachers.
Again, Joel has the goft of exhortation and if a person does not know what this ministry is about then t=you should seek God for answers before you go calling out a person as being of the satan, that's balsphemey calling God's work of the devil, in case you didn't know that either.
Its also good to READ or LISTEN to a person more than one time before you place him/her into your box as being a flase teacher, becasue that person just might be giving you a word from God.
The preaching and teaching of God's word IS NOT according to what YOU THINK it should be and what you're use to hearing, its accoring to what God says it should be to reach those HE so desires to reach.

GOD HAS PROMISED IN JEREMIAH 29:13: YOU WILL FIND ME WHEN YOU SEEK ME WITH **ALL YOUR HEART**.�
John 14:23: Jesus says, �If anyone loves Me, he will obey My teaching, My Father will love him, and We will make Our home with him.�
Matthew 28:19,20: Jesus commands, �Go and make disciples of all nations... teaching them to *OBEY EVERYTHING* I have commanded you!� :applause::angel:
I John 2:3-5: �We know that we have come to know Him **IF** we obey His commands. The man who says, �I know Him,� but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the Truth is not him. But if anyone **OBEYS HIS WORD**, God's **LOVE** is truly made complete in Him!!�:angel:
So let us read God's Word daily {Acts 17:11} and then *DO WHAT IT SAYS*! {James 1:22,25}
Acts 17:11: �The Bereans were of noble character, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures *EVERY DAY*!�
James 1:22,25: �Do not merely listen to the Word. *DO WHAT IT SAYS*!... and he who continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but *DOING IT*�will be blessed in what he does.

RKF, you say Osteen is not doing what he is suppose to be doing and that his sermons about what God can do for a person. What is it he is SUPPOSE TO BE DOING according to YOU.
:stop: Preach Christ and HIM crucified, the blodo of Jesus washign away SIN in the human, and the power of the HOLY SPIRIT with out we have nothing. the holy spirit convicts of Judgment, sin and righteousness, of which Ovalteen speaks none of. HE is suposed to Talk about JESUS and JESUS only. He hardly ever does talk about him. I even have heard him sheepishly and publicaly deny that JESUS was the onyl way to heaven, look into it:stop:
Did you know that there are many people and especially Christinas who DO NOT KNOW that God will do anything for them? Are we not to talk about what God does for us and what He can do for us if we take heed? Does God not tell us we have not because we ask not and when we do ask we ask with the wrong motives, in that we are asking for oursleves only and not thinking about others to share the bblessing with?.
:stop:You have not becasue you ask Not. YOu have no holynes, becasue you dotn ask for it. So i can walk home and not get my groceries soking wet...But what Osteen preaches is EXACTLY what unchristiasn preach, there IS no difference, he jsut staples the word GOD to it, its Positive thinkign, its pscyology, and its NOT the SPirit of GOD. those led by the SPIRIT of GOD are sons of GOD. HE is syign lead yourself, becasue GOD wants you to be happy. God doesnt want you to be happy, hewants you to obey him.:stop:
We are told to encourage each other daily. There are people who profess and confess to be Christian who are sitting in the darkness of their minds in depression because they think being a Christian and being saved is all they are to do, this is not even biblical thinking, nor is it of God.
:stop: Yes we sure are. called to encourage each other, OUT of sin, OUT of the world, OUT of self, and edify each other in SPIRITUAL, heavenly thigns, not earthly carnal. Sorry but that IS the truth of the Gospel. "Beign saved" is not all we are clled to do, we are caleld to DIE. We are called to DENY SELF adn FOLLOW CHRIST, not worry about SELF, nor worry about tomorrow, jsut KNOW that in FAITH GOD provides all OUR NEDS so WE seek to be LED by the HOLY SPIRIT who leads us to put to death the deeds of the flesh. and to do GODS WILL. and GODS WILL is OUR sanctification, and spotlessnes from the WORLD. Men like Osteen anger the holyspirt, Men Like OSteen are very wrong in there emphasis. Men like osteen pray on flesh, they speak positive thigns only, Which is not what we are caleld to do. YOU tae the apostles words and the life of CHRIST JEsus and you compare them to osteen, the man is a wolf. he does NOT preach the gosepl. We arent CALLED to do anythig nbut preach the GOSPEL and make disciples. if his calling is exhortation, then let it be for the BODY, if he is on NATIONAL television where MANY non christians gather to wathc him, he preaches compramisings, adn NOTHING that would convict ANYONE of changing there ways. He is a WOLF. :stop:
You say he never makes mention of Jesus in his sermons, well, is Jesus God? Is God Jesus? I wonder if you even READ ALL the sermons, or just skimmed over them... The Book of Esther does even make mention of the name of God, so are you to say that it is not of God?
:stop: He makes no mention of Jesus being GOD, he makes no mentio nof Jesus, when he does mention him, of being any more then havign good teachigns, but yet he NEVER teaches JESUS. Hedoesnt he preaches a DIFFERENT Jesus. He IS to be Accursed if you go by the wirds of PAUL, i cant curse him, becasue im not judge of his soul, but i can spot a wolf with hthe Gift of decernement GOD gave me. He is sure one. Osteen's gift in ministry is the gift of Exhortation in case you do not know this... I think you should understand what the gift of exhortation is all about before you speak as you do about something you know nothing about concerning God's work. He has many sermons speaking about Jesus in them and what Jesus teaches, so if you need encouragement, take time and listen to what Osteen speaks.... Here is you may not know by Dr. Charles Stanley from one of his sermons.
:stop: Encouragement in what dear friend? to seek JESUS? Does he ever preach the DEEP thigns of JESUS? the goal of everychristian to be conforemd to HIS imamge? Does he preach the Gosepl? nope. HE doesnt. Im not tryign to make a mockery of a positve speaker you may like, he has positive messages, but that is NOT the callign of a diciple of JESUS CHRIST. ITs not. Our callig nisnt "positivity" its to preach JESUS ONLY. Jesus siad WOE when men speak well of you, and JEsus said if you deny ME i will deny YOU. now you keep an eye on OSteen and watch and LISTEN Read the words of JEsus in the gospels and match them up with what Osteen preaches, and if you are Honest with yourself he does NOT preach the gospel.:stop:
Characteristics of someone with the gift of exhortation:
1. Wisdom - to understand the Word of God and how it applies to you.
:stop: Does he understand the WORD OF GOD? :stop:
2. Discernment - to be able to "slice open mentally and see the truth for what it is."
:stop:Yes and the Dcernment that GOD gave ME says this man is a twister of the gospel message and ONLY in it for himself, NOT JESUS.:stop:
3. Faith - to believe God can take you from where you are to where He desires you to be.
:stop:GOD desires us to DIE, ET. GOD desired JESSU to die, and for US to follwo in his example. Joel isnt dead, in fact he i the ANtithisis of DEAD to SELF. he does NOT wlak i nthe PRomises of GOD i nthis NEW covenatn, in fact he preaches a mish-mosh OLD covenant adn he doesnt even get THAT fully, becasue NOTHIG Nof the fear of GOD, adn the JUDGMENT of GOD. if FEAR is the beginign of WISDOM then MOST peopel, includign this man, has NO WISDOM. FEAR= reverence respect, and OBEDEINCE to JESUS. Thei man has NOT built his house on solid rock, but on sand.:stop:
4. Discretion - to keep what he knows about you in confidence.
:stop: I dont see how this has anythig nto do with a LARGE congragation preacher. he can no NOTHIGN about the audience to which he preaches to. :stop:
5. Love - to desire the best in your life. Offers God's truth without judgment or condemnation.
:stop: LOVE= Desiring the best in my life? is that biblicaly backed up? GODS TRUTH is if you love ME you OBEY ME. its simple. If you LOVE ME and wnat to know my POWER you submit to me, take YOUR desire adn lusts of the FLEHSH throw hthem under a BUS, and SEEK JESUS. :stop:
6. Creative - to recognize that you are a unique individual and God's Word must be applied to your life creatively.

7. Enthusiasm - to be able to inspire you to desire more in your Christian walk.
:stop:Yeah they TEACH enthusiasm. is that beign led by the HOLY SPIRIT. do you think paul STUDDIED public speaking liek these men do...or was it a MOVE OF GOD?:stop:
Romans 12:3 Because of the grace that God gave me, I can say to each one of you: don�t think of yourself more highly than you ought to think. Instead be reasonable since God has measured out a portion of faith to each one of you. 4 We have many parts in one body, but the parts don�t all have the same function. 5 In the same way, though there are many of us, we are one body in Christ, and individually we belong to each other. 6 We have different gifts that are consistent with God�s grace that has been given to us. If your gift is prophecy, you should prophesy in proportion to your faith. 7 If your gift is service, devote yourself to serving. If your gift is teaching, devote yourself to teaching. 8 If your gift is ENCOURAGEMENT/EXHORTATION, devote yourself to encouraging. The one giving should do it with no strings attached. The leader should lead with passion. The one showing mercy should be cheerful.
:stop:Exhortation is givng Godly advice, but if GOD says GIVE ME YOUR LIFE. and MAN says ENJOY YOUR LFIE DONT GIVE IT TO GOD, if GOD SAYS YOU MUST LEARN SUFFERING. and man says SUFFERIGN ISNT FOR GODS CHIDLREN. Then that MAN is preachign a fasle security, a false gosepl, andsendign MANY to HELL i na hand basket, becasue that MAN would rather tickle ears to get a BIG paycheck and 5 houses, and designer jets, and what have you. The man DOES NOT preach the gospel, and is NOT giving GODLY exhortation, but CARNAL, and the CARNAL MIND is EMNITY with GOD.
So i warn, in love, please be careful of this man, he is preachign a ifferent gospel, Jesus, and has another spirit.:stop:

Again, I ask you RKF, do you understand the GIFT OF EXHORTATION? Have you ever heard if it before today in the forum?
Here's a few words of counsel and exhortation... no extra charge... If your gift in ministry is to preach and teach directly from the Bible then please be encouraged to do so. If you or anyone has the gift of exhortaion this does not mean you are not teaching directly from the Bible, it means you, as Joel are speaking from your life experiences that you have over come using God's Word as a support and the foundation.
And again, RKF, if has God told you this is not His minitry what Joel is doing? Then you have need to make contact with Joel and let him know what God has told you, but make sure its the same Joel has heard from God otherwise that will make you a false prophet speaking a lie in the name of God. But I don't think God has told you anything about Joel's ministry, in fact, what you and Rochard know about Joel Osteen IS ONLY what you BOTH HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET!
Therefore, I would suggest you both learn more about Joel's work in ministry and listen to his sermons before you go shoting off at the mouth about him being a false teacher. when neither you or Rochrad have it all together ispiritually in the word fo God.
I think you should also realize everyone has been given a different spiritual gift in ministry to do as God has called them to do to wins souls, and it is not up to you, Richard, me or anyone else to speak against how the messages of encouragment that ALSO leads to salvation is delivered.
You do your part and leave the other person to do their part.
:stop: Remember, what happened to those who came up against Moses telling him he was not of God?
:stop: Remember the story about David's wife who came up against him because he danced like a crazy fool before the Lord?... and I could go on and on of those who opposed how God did HIS BUSINESS, The foolishness of God is more wiser than anything man could ever come up with... and He uses foolishness to confound the wise.
You or Richard and others know not one thing about the gift of exhortation and most likely you've never heard of it in the Bible or anywhere else... so again, before you place YOUR spiritual demands and thought and opinions as to what YOU think Joel or anyone should be preaching and teaching based on your own OPINIONS, I think you do weel to make sure YOU are not in error of God's word, and you should seek God about what you should be doing to win souls, and ask Him if what you believe in His word is of Truth.
Because it sure isn't to call what another minister is doing as being a false teacher if that person has not said anything that proves to be false or santanic, and you're able to POINT OUT WHAT MAKES WHAT THE PERSON SAY TO BE OF THE DEVIL.
You and Richard and all others had better be careful especially if souls are being won for the kingdon and people are being encouraged by Osteen ministery and set free. Jesus says we are to set the captives free from bondage, and a person can't be set free until they know that God is there for then and there is more to life thab depression thinking God doesn't care for them, and that there is no hope becasue the person is our of work and can't find a job, or afford to buy food for their family, and the person needs emotinal and meatl healing. One cannot receive Christ in their hearts until there is emotional and mental healing FIRST, and brought out of depression... and THEN you can speak to themn about what Jesus did on the cross to set them spieiruall free... Jesus didn't speak about the cross to the hunger people first, He feed then food for the physicall He took care of their physical need FIRST..
As Paul says, the PHYSICAL COME FIRST THEN THE SPIRITUAL!
You're getting into God's BUSINESS and He hasn't call you to do such.
Also, John Macarthur has no room to call anyone a false teacher because he himself is also called a false teacher by other.
I like both Joel and MacArthur, even if there are some things MacArthur says are in error according to scripture, but I don't consider him to be a false teacher. He just in error. Sound like MacArhtur had lots of nerves to try and call Joel a false teacher when I can pull up some of his sermins that do not agree with what God speaks... maybe he's just jealous, this is usually the case.. He's getting old and hasn't made it where he would like to be in ministry and can't draw 250,000 people to one of his revivals, so he resents that Joel just got into ministry and is drawing people from every walk of life.
And not only this, they come down to give their hearts to Christ, and not only that, many have been set free from the bondages of being depressed.
So you, young man preach and teach what God has given you, and leave others alone as to what they teach and preach UNLESS you can point out to the person their false teaching, then you should ask of God if the person is a false teacher or preacher BEFORE you go off in a whirl wind of calling them or anyone a false teacher... just because YOU DO NOT understand the spiritual gift of exhortaion and read what's posted on the internet without knowing the facts for yourself.... I think God has a word for that as being a sin... Ithink Its called false witness... isn't??? I think that's what its called.

James, you make me laugh... I'm all over the place because God is all over the place, you mujst not be reading your Bible in full, and I'm not trapped into one area of the Bible, this is not God's plan for any of us. We are to know and understand all areas of His word becasue our lives are not in one area but cover every possible happening there is to come, and it is our responsibility to know how to handle such, otherwise, there would not be so much depression nor wold there be so mus spirutal retardation when it comes to the things of God and His word, people in their own bondgae of life... and you know I love ya, but some of your theology is so twisted I get vertigo:laugh:... here's one for you James... enjoy! and READ it not skim:laugh:
You're Connected to the Vine, Not the Report by Joel Osteen
Growing up, I knew this very successful business man. He owned hundreds and hundreds of orange crops. During this one particular winter, it was predicted to be a hard freeze which was very unusual because it never froze in that part of the country. He knew if that happened, it would destroy all of his crops and cost him thousands and thousands of dollars.
This man was kind of far out, but he believed that God could do anything. So he went out and marched around his orange trees and said, "God, I'm asking You to protect my crops and keep them from freezing." When his friends heard about it, they thought he was so strange and that was so odd.
When the big freeze came in the next morning, it lasted a little over twenty-four hours. His friends, who were also farmers, were so discouraged trying to figure out how they were going to survive knowing that the crops where going to be destroyed. This other man, he just kept thanking God that He was protecting his crops. Several days later, it was the most unusual sight. His property with hundreds and hundreds of acres had the most beautiful, healthy orange trees. But the trees on the properties around him, on all four sides, were just as dead as could be. It looked like somebody had put a big blanket over his property. Those other farmers were amazed. Instead of making fun of him, they said, "Next time do us a favor. Pray over our crops as well."
What happened? He was connected to the vine and not the report. He understood that God is well able to take care of us. He understood that God can prosper us even in the desert if we'll just be bold enough to believe despite of what the report says.
When we abide in Christ, agreeing with what He says we are, it doesn't matter what things look like in the natural. When we believe and agree and put God first, we will bear much fruit.
Scripture says if we will keep God first, we'll be like a tree planted by streams of water, whose leaf will not wither (Psalm 1:3). That means, financial difficulties may come, but we don't have to get all down and go into that survival mode hoping to just make it. When times get tough, don't hunker down and think, "Oh, it's so bad. If I can just hold on and make it through another year." No, dig your heels in and say, "I'm not going to just survive. I'm going to thrive. I'm going to prosper in spite of this difficulty."
We can stay in faith knowing that we are connected to the vine, and believe that God will supernaturally protect us, and that we'll see His unprecedented favor.
You see, it's not that impressive for us to be blessed and promoted when the economy is strong, business is great and everybody around us is being blessed. People can say that's just the benefit of good times or that's just the benefit of a strong economy. They can make excuses for it. But when times are tough and every other news report talks about how bad it is and how we're not supposed to make it; and yet, God shows up and does something unusual and extraordinary, that's a greater testimony to the faithfulness of our God. When God prospers you in the desert, and people see you increasing even though they're stuck, that's when they'll know it makes a difference to serve the Most High God.
The scripture says in Jeremiah that if we'll keep the Lord our trust and confidence, He will prosper us even in the desert. He'll prosper us even in difficult times. That means when others are going under, God says you'll go over. When other people are losing clients and business is slow, God is bringing you new clients. When companies are laying people off, God is opening up supernatural doors for you.
Maybe you're trying to sell your house and no other houses in the neighborhood are really selling. Why don't you be bold like this man and believe for favor? Why don't you be bold and march around your property and say, "God, I know I'm not supposed to survive. I'm supposed to thrive. So I'm asking that Your favor would cause my house to stand out." Maybe business is slow. Other people in your same field are really struggling. Well, you've got to start thanking God that He's bringing you new clients, that He's giving you new ideas, that He's opening up supernatural doors.
That's what it means to have a thriving mentality, knowing that you're connected to the vine. Deep down, we know even when we're in the desert; even when things are slow financially; even when we get a negative report, God is still on the throne. Our job is not our source. The economy is not our source. We know God is our source. And in one sense, it doesn't really matter what the stock market does or doesn't do. It doesn't matter how high the price of gas goes. God always has the final say. If gas goes to ten dollars a gallon that just means God is going to bless us in a greater way. David said in Psalm 37:25, "I've never seen the righteous forsaken nor His seed begging for bread."
You may ask, "What about the economy?" Well, let me ask you, "What about our God?" He's still on the throne. The good news is there is not a recession in heaven. God has not had to cut back because of high gas prices. He's not having a shortage of food and supplies. I'm happy to report that all is well. At times, it may be difficult, and you might wonder how it's all going to work out. But just remember this: as God took the five loaves and the two fish and multiplied it to feed thousands of people, God can multiply what you have. He can multiply your time and help you to get more done. He can multiply your wisdom and help you to make better decisions. God can multiply your finances and cause them to go further. This may sound kind of far out, but God can cause your car to get better gas mileage. He can cause you to stay out of those traffic jams. God can help you find the best deals at the stores, find things that are on sale that are usually never on sale. God is in complete control.
Here's the key: as long as our source is okay, we're going to be okay. If we'll just stay connected to the vine, keeping God first, believing and expecting for His favor; then as His branches, we're not going to just survive. We're going to thrive.

In the old covenant God's commandments were only preached to Jews but in the New Covenant Jesus commands us to preach to every nation in the world teaching them to obey *EVERYTHING* He commanded and everything would also include all of the approximately 400 NT commandments also taught in Acts to Revelation {See 2 Timothy 3-16 to 4:2.}
Jesus also eliminated the earthly rewards for faithful service and commanded us to sell our possessions and give to the poor and get *TREASURES IN HEAVEN* and **THEN** come follow Him.
Luke 12:33,34: Jesus says, �Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted....For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.�:angel:
Matthew 20:20-24: �All these {Commandments} I have kept, the young man said. �What do I still lack?� Jesus answered, �If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. **THEN** come, follow Me.� When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. 2 Corinthians 5:9,10: "So we make it our goal to please Him..For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him {Not NOW} for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad!"

Worry is Like a Rocking Chair... Keep Your Song by Joel Osteen
You might be rocking away, and it might feel like you're getting somewhere; but in the end, you are exactly where you started. With the state of the economy and the unemployment rate, it's easy to worry.
Most of us remember the first time we heard officially on the news that our economy is in a recession. But did you know that the next morning, the birds still woke up and sang? They didn't fall off their branches in unbelief and start flying around here and there worrying, stopping their song.
No, the little birds sang and the big birds sang, and it was like a beautiful symphony.
You might be thinking, "Joel, that's great, birds singing and all; but come on, our economy is in a crisis."
Listen to what Jesus says, "Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure to his stature or to the span of his life? And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin. Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his magnificence was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will he not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith?
Therefore, do not worry and be anxious, saying, "What are we going to eat? Or "What are we going to have to drink? Or, what are we going to have to wear? But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things taken together will be given to you. So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own." (Matthew 6:26-30, Amplified)
Friends, nothing is new under the sun. They might not have had economists back then with the term "recession", but there have been many who've gone before us that worried about what to eat, drink, wear, where to live, where to send their kids, how to pay for this or that; but God lovingly reminds us that He takes care of the flowers in the field and the birds in the air. How much more valuable are we to Him?
Jesus made it so clear about worrying. How many more days to our life will we added by worrying? Are you going to grow taller? Are you going to grow smarter? Are your problems going to disappear? Worrying does us no good! But what does us good is when we magnify God and not our problems. The Bible even says, "Do not fret, it only leads to evil."
So what are we to do? Trust God, and just like the birds, praise Him. Keep that song of praise in your heart. When the praises go up, the blessings come down. His joy is our strength through the hard times. When you spend your time worrying, you're not putting your faith out there.
Worry says, "I'm not going to get a job. I'm never going to get my retirement back."
The garment of praise says, "Father, I thank you for the victories you've already brought me. Thank you for the favor. Thank you that you're turning my situation around."
One thing I've learned is that you can't worry and praise at the same time.
You can't say, "I know You're on the throne, and You're good all the time. You always cause me to triumph. You make a way when there seems to be no way," and then worry and think, "I don't know how this is going to turn around."
Supernatural things will happen when we praise. Supernatural things do not happen when we worry. Worry does nothing but rob your joy.
You might feel like worrying is getting you somewhere, but it does nothing but zap your strength. We need our energy for the battles in life, and we need the knowledge of who God is during these difficulties to keep singing.
Suddenly, God can change your situation around like Paul and Silas when they were in prison. In the midnight hour, they were set free. But was it from them crying, fretting and wringing their hands, being in despair and complaining? No, they were praising God and the prison door went wide open.
No matter what the news report says about how many points the Dow Jones is down, each day, wake up with great faith and keep your joy and praise God.
And don't forget to enlarge your vision. You can't do that when you're worrying. You might have lost a lot in the stock market, but God can cause you to make back everything you lost, plus more. There is no limit to what God can do. But what does limit Him is when we don't believe, and we allow worry to rob our joy and faith.
This is what Scripture says in Jeremiah 33:11, "'�Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; his love endures forever. For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before.' says the Lord."
That means when you wake up, praise God. Believe Him for restoration in your retirement and savings. Believe God for restoration in that business you lost. There is nothing too difficult for God to do. Everything that was stolen can be restored in your life. God always gives us double for our trouble, and He likes to outdo Himself. The question is do you believe He will?
Keep your hopes up. Don't let worry have any room in your heart today.
Keep a song in your heart. And when you wake up in the morning and hear the birds singing, let it remind you to praise God during these difficult economic times. He has the whole world in His hands. In fact, He has you in the palm of His Hand. Nothing is a surprise to Him. If you will stay full of hope and praise, God will show Himself strong in your life, and you will not be disappointed!

ET Said: Here's a few words of counsel and exhortation... no extra charge... If your gift in ministry is to preach and teach directly from the Bible then please be encouraged to do so. If you or anyone has the gift of exhortaion this does not mean you are not teaching directly from the Bible, it means you, as Joel are speaking from your life experiences that you have over come using God's Word as a support and the foundation.
"The man dosnt preach JESUS. he has a PUBLIC AUDIENCE, it is NOT JUST CHRISTANS. HE IS PASTOR OF LAKLAND CHURCH...so UNChristian peopel are watching a suposed pastor who is suposed to follow JESUS...and the man has blood on his hands. if he was called to be a PASTOR, then he NEEDS to preach the GOSPEL. He does not. IF he was called to be an exhorter, then he should be ONLYA positive speaker and needs to step down as a PASTOR. We ALL have gifts to edify the BODY, and to put into the minsitry of spreading the GOSPEL. HE is not doign this.

Its not false. its TRUE that Joel osteen calls himself a PASTOR yet really accordign to the BIBLE is not one. Its true that Joel Osteen does NOT preach the gospel, and does NOT preach repentance, adn does NOT preach the CROSS. Hedoesnt, its nto a flase witness, its TRUE, and there are MORE then TWO Or Three to attest to it. It is ALSO True that If his GIFT is Exhortation it is for the comforting of the BODY and NOT the LOST. if exhortation IS to the LOST it NEEDS to be accompanied by GOSPEL.

Look im not goign to go on. JOEL preaches a Self help lesson, but DOESNT preach gospel, or the CROSS or Really JESUS at all. he doesnt. and he is leadign many astray, He preches what YOU CAN DO, in love i say Dont be led astray, DO NOT BE DECIEVED by this man. But thats really the end of it. I wont say it again.
