Part Two: The Spirit Within: The Spirit upon > Have you received The Gift of the Holy?

our young men sWe that have received the Gift of the Holy Ghost know this is very distinct from receiving the lord Jesus and being born again, for the scripture is very clear of the promise of the father: The gift of the Holy Ghost for the church.
Just to recap:
Every Gospel proclaims that Jesus say's it is better that he go away, that he might send the comforter, the spirit of Truth unto us, this is another example of the fullness of the godhead in the lives of believers it was not an option to receive, to not receive the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit was first given in the book of Acts and we will see the Gift is for all and distinctive and separate from the NEW Birth.
Notice what Peter said about this gift, this promise is for all flesh:
Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and yhall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Acts 2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Here again is the same promise and it is called the gift of the Holy Ghost. Which is defined in the bible and we will point out later.
Here is a good example of the distinction of receiving the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
Acts 8:13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
Acts 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
Acts 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Acts 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
Verse `12 and thirteen we see these people where saved.
Verses 14 and 15 when the apostle's heard they had received the word of God they immediately left to pray for them that they might receive the Holy Ghost.
Verse seventeen they laid hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit, you do not lay hands on people to be saved!!
Verse 18 Simon saw something as you do in all scriptures concerning receiving the Holy Spirit, you can not tell people receive Jesus by seeing.
Ch 10 of Acts confirms and agrees with the second ch of Acts
Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Notice what Peter says in referring to this occurrence and the second ch of Acts:
Acts 11:13 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
Acts 11:14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 11:17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
There are a total of five witness that speak of the believers receiving the Holy Spirit after receiving Jesus.

Yes, Jesus gave His Spirit only to a few disciples when He resurrected.
In acts we see that many people received the Holy Spirit. Why? To testify about God to other nations. That's why they were not 'barking' like in modern-day churches but they talking in other foreign languages about God and Jesus. It was their testimony.

You said: Bahira obeying the word of God is not sin it is love it is as, a couple of done here that is sin.' To say Jesus is Satan is without question sin.
I want you to remind you that actually YOU claimed that Jesus is satan by saying that:
Well Satan works even hard to continually proclaim prosperity is evil.
My response to your statement above was the following:
If Christians say that prosperity is not what is written in the Holy Bible (financial prosperity), then they say it only because their Lord Jesus said it. If you said that Jesus is satan then what will be your reward at your Judgment Day?
Ponder:
Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect , go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." Matth 19:21
So, pj again, by saying what you said, you want to insult me and defile. I tell you your own words and God will JUDGE you for every word you utter sinning against me and Richard.
Note, I warned you many times before that if you will continue to insult me or other people, I will ask moderators to block you for this site after the analysis of your insults I keep ready for them. So, my advice control what you say or you will give response to God during the Judgment Day.

PJ said:
"Bahira what does your response have to do with the post?"
James replies:
Now, if fifty more people just reply with one liners that have nothing to do with the topic, then it will have done to YOU as you have done to others on this group MANY, MANY TIMES.

Bahira is RIGHT PJ.
What you need to admit PJ, is that MOST CHRISTIANS do NOT believe what you are teaching.
Pentecostals believe it, but they are WRONG.
As you have already been shown, directly with Scripture, if you don't have the Holy Spirit, then you are not saved.
People had the Holy Spirit BEFORE Pentecost.
It was just that at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came in a new and powerful way.
It also stopped in that way, with the Apostles.
You don't have the power to heal, and the Apostles Did.
You are trying to teach Pentecostal beliefs to Christians who are not pentecostals.
You should at LEAST admit up front, that that is what you are doing.
In Christ,
James
Interesting response James to so openly say the word of God is not true because you say so very intersting,
It would not matter if there was only one person alive that believed the word to be true and all the other people on the earth said it was not that would not make it so.

Brothers,
There are diversities of gifts of the Holy Spirit!
Why am I here on this earth to begin with? To bring glory to God. We are here/to bring glory. Lets take what God has given us time, resources, money to invest into God's Kingdom!
We are to be ready, busy and faithful.
It is up to us what we do with what God gave us ....time, life, resources, spiritual gifts,
Your position before God is reflected in your finances, in giving them out to people who need them and foodif you are withholding them, it says about you. Giving is the universal practice, it is not an option. God Jesus was teaching us that. You should put aside some money for people to support them, feed them.... Each of us should do it. You miss out the blessing God if you do not do it.
'Sin of omission' is not doing good things....what you or I should do. Lets take our time, resources, money and use it for the Gods glory. We are supposed to be busy serving to God.
God Jesus said: "I was naked, you did not dress me...I was hungry, you did not give Me food..."
Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.
The Scripture said that we as Christians will face the Judgment seat of Christ. There is the reward ceremony coming. God knows, pays attention. He watches. Rewards are given out. What did you do with your gifts, abilities, time and money? Do you live against God Jesus and His teaching? Or are you for Him? Do you support people, feed them, dress them, heal them, support them, pray for them, love them?
God calls you to righteousness and love for people. You should use all your resources to implement the will of God on earth. Because we all will give account for what we did on earth. God is the Judge and the Judge Jesus is coming back to establish His reign on earth and JUDGE us all. That's why we should OBEY and APPLY what He COMMANDS in His Scripture.
I remember how faithful is our brother Richard in his service to God and I do not stop saying gratitude for Richard and his service. Such we all should be, living in faithfulness to God because God is FAITHFUL to every one of us desiring to save us and not to destroy with the wicked.
1 Corinthians 12
Spiritual Gifts: Unity in Diversity
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: 2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same[b] Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
Unity and Diversity in One Body
12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one bodywhether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or freeand have all been made to drink into[c] one Spirit. 14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.
15 If the foot should say, Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body, is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear should say, Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body, is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? 18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of you; nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, 24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. 28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But earnestly desire the best[d] gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
