This a gift from the father given by the lord Jesus, in a separate act of faith to those receive him.

Phil, you know many christians prayed about me and even deceived me when I was a child saying that I spoke in tongues. But it was not so. I did not speak. I did not bark and I did not pronounce what God gives me. But still I am a christian. My faith does not depend on tongues.
They said: I speak. They laid their hands and prayed and prayed...that I even was that nothing happened.
I realized that this is the greatest deception of this world. God gives His gifts as He wishes and not all people speak in tongues.
There are different gifts i.e. God's manifestations and tongues are just one of them.
We are not christians because we speak in tongues. We are christians because we believe that Jesus is our God. God Jesus saved us and He lives in us though His Spirit.

If God dwells in me it means that His Spirit will resurrect me at the last day. Why? Because I put my trust in my God Jesus.
If I would bark allowing myself to be deceived I would be a liar.
That's why if God is in me, I belong to Him. If He will give me a gift of tongues I would use it. If not, I will allow Him to decide how to govern my life. Because He gives gifts as He wishes.

This is an example of hardness of heart refusing to see the truth.

God is governing my life because His Son died on the cross and saved me, because He loves me and He is my loving Pastor who is protecting me. His Spirit dwells in me and I belong to Him.
