The question: How did a dead man, Lazarus, obey the Lord's command to come forth while he was dead? We all know dead people cannot hear, react, think, decide, surely not make decisions. That would be ludicrous to believe they could, yet Lazarus did. So again, how did he do this? You say "the Word of God"? Now we're getting some where. The Word of God(God), enabled him to come alive and come forth. Why do we all believe this? Because none of us are so foolish to think a dead person can do anything but "be dead". It took GOD to awaken him. There is no way around that period. Think about it. If you say "it is God's Word that did it", then you are saying that it is God who did it. A dead man cannot hear God's Word unless GOD enables him. Otherwise, every dead person to this day would of heard it and I don't personally see many dead people rising out of their tombs. You say, "but God spoke specifically to Lazarus". Ok, now we're getting even warmer. God spoke exactly to whom He chose and he responded obediently and with full faith. Not a doubt in Lazarus' mind about the whole thing. Its exactly like saving faith right? We believe with all our heart, but it takes God to enable us to listen. Blessed be His Name. Oh, and don't bother with the ridiculous "word of faith" did it. Remember: dead men cannot hear to have faith in the Word of faith. Blessings Post Reply

HUH I am pretty darn sure I was dead in my tress passes and sins when I heard and responed! YOu calvinists will walk 1000 miles around the truth! JESUS LOVED AND DIED FOR EVERYONE!! ALL THE WORLD EVERY SINGLE PERSON! He carried the sins of the WORLD! No goes the earth as a geographical object have sins?? UHHH NOPE! It was people in the world and it doesnt say part of the world! I am so sorry yall have to butcher gods word to make you feel like you are born special! yall aint you was born dead in tress passes and sin just like me and everyone else IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD! Lazerus did hear Jesus! IF not then why did Jesus speak? Tell me that much ??? He once heald a blind man by spitting in some dirt and rubbing it in his eye? If Lazerus didnt hear then why didnt Jesus just wave his hand or just tell the diciples to take away the stone and Laxerus would have walked out! But no Jesus made it a point to say and calling him by his name say LAZERUS COME FORTH!! Goodness what yopu are saying is Jesus is a big dummy that speaks directly to men that cant hear him! I mean he was speaking to the dead lazerus right??? good grief! how can you say that? I am offended I think! How can you sit there and say Jesus would do something sill as to speak directly to a dead man dead for 4 days that cant even hear him! Why didnt he just wave his hand , or like he did to so many otheres and say its done your faith did it! Why did he speak to lazerus! Oh MY Goodness that upsets me, that is completly crazy, My Jesus?/ OH NO he has better sence than to speak to a man that cant hear him! Only to those that can hear ! Why didnt Jesus say to his siters, your faith has saved him??? WHY?? He had done that several other times! No because he was speaking to Lazarus . Oh I am sorry yall I am upset! My intention was not to upset anyone, but to simply ask a question. I don't believe I butchered God's Word because I only asked how a dead person can hear anything. It is a very simple question for which I believe has a very simple and in escapable answer: God gave the ability for a dead man to hear who was physically not able to hear anything. You and I can talk to dead people til we're blue in the face and we all know and understand that they will never, ever hear us, let alone comprehend us. And that is ok, it is expected. There is no way around it. I believe you are right that God would not waste His time talking to a dead body unless He expected to be heard. Lazarus certainly heard him, but how if he was dead and completely unable to hear sound waves coming through his dead ears entering his dead brain? That's the question. How can a lifeless, dead body do that without the help of an omnipotent God enabling him to? Its a simple question with a simple answer, they can't because dead people simply cannot hear. The only way on this earth for a dead person to react to ANYTHING, is if God Himself intervenes. Again, I'm not trying to upset anyone. I'm only asking a simple, logical question to the forum to stir their thinking, that is all. May we all do our best to answer each others questions and statements with respect and with godly intentions for His glory and not our own satisfaction. That starts with me first. Because I used logic and reason which are God-given attributes? I mean do you believe you can know and serve the Lord without using logic and reasoning? How do you know the Bible doesn't contradict itself unless you use logic and reasoning? That is completely insane. Although, by your posts and replies, it is very evident that you refuse to use them. Please don't mislead people into thinking that they are not to use their brains when reading the Word of God. How else can you rightly divide it? Oh, and please, please don't say that the Holy Spirit magically gives you revelation! What would you base your revelation on to be sure it is of God? I know what the noble Bereans did, do you? You cannot answer the question because you refuse to believe God at His Word and insist, although contrary to Scripture, that YOU played a part of your spiritual birth. That, is a very prideful statement. Side note: Logic and reason do not solely define the Lord whatsoever. His ways are far above ours and do not always seem "logical" or "reasonable" to us. God can give a dead man the ability to to hear, he gave it to me when I was dead in tress passes and sin HE CAN GIVE IT TO WHOEVER HE WANTS TO and he is no respectore of persons so this is no argument for your theologey God is all powerful and he can and will give the ability to hear just like he did for Lazarus Post Reply

Without God FIRST opening the eyes and ears, man cannot hear because they are so content in their sin. It takes God FIRST to enable the dead to hear. See, we think alike:) Post Reply
