Gen 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
Blessed is the word that proclaims prosperity and more.
The animals where first blessed then man.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Gen 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Gen 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
Part of the blessing to mankind was dominion.
The Hebrew word translated blessing is barak. Barak means, to endue with power for
success, prosperity, fecundity (fruitfulness), longevity etc.4 Yahweh is the only source of
barak. His presence confers blessing, and it is only in His name that others can confer
blessing. Indeed, Yahwehs name, the manifestation of his personal, redemptive, covenantkeeping
nature, is at the heart of all blessing
You will see this term continually used thru out the Old testament and the you will see it manifest to those that are of faith in Christ after the order of the blessing of Abraham. To the church, You can the blessing in the 28th ch of Deuteronomy.
You will scripture after scripture that reflect the law of increase after the type of seed sown every time.
God's principles of reaping and sowing covers ALL THINGS. Whether its sowing in the soil as in planting seeds for a plant, or food, or good deed, or sowing seed into the ministry of the Lord with your time, efforts, or money, diligence or whatever. The principles remain the same, there will be a harvest to reap.
If you sow good seed you will reap a good harvest. If you sow bad seed you will reap a bad crop... the scirptue says you REAP WHATSOEVER YOU SOW (plant) wheteher its in the soil or in deed.
Elisha, if you have given of yurself for the good of others and given your money for the works of the church ministry or to help others, you WILL REAP THE HAREST according to what you have sown.
It may not come when you want it, but God's word never fails, it will always be on time, and until such time of the harvest, God is still sustaining you in whatvere finanical condition you are in and He has promised there is no want for need for those who give and sow diligently. And I doubt it very seriopusly if you have need to beg for bread, becasue as David says he has NEVER SEEN THE RIGHTEOUS FORSAKEN OR GOD'S CHIRLDEN BEG FOR BREAD, and God says they are not in want of no good thing because He will supply ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY.
Your bank account ain't got nothing to do with, money mangement is your responsibility. But God has never failed you and He has always been there to meet you in your needs. And will be there whenever you have a need...and will grant you the desires of your heart when you delight in His word and are trustworthy with the little that you do have, as you say you are, so take a look around you at what God has already done, and what God is doing and look with great expectations in faith of what He's going to do.
And as Paul teaches us, IN ALL, EVERYTHING GIVE GOD THE PRAISE WITH THANKSGIVING IN FAITH, KNOWING THAT WHEN ITS TIME FOR YOUR HARVEST, IT WILL NOT BE DELAYED AS GOD HAS PROMISED, if you are diligent with what you have. God says no good thing is withheld from those who diligently seek Him, and are doers of of His word... that's Bible!
And I must also agree in part... I call it the M7M sydrome... right motive wrong method... ths is why paul speak about what he does in 2 Corinthinas chpater 8 and 9 about giving. it has to be with a cheerful heart... you can give with the wrong motive and have the right method by giving, or you can give with the right method but have the wrong motive... yet and still God is a man of His word, and He will fulfill His promise and His principles, but if the motive is wrong, he will bring forth the harvest but will take it away like the wind. And of the method is wrong, He will also bring forth the harvest and require discipline by prolonging the harvest, but the harvest will come about. Becasue He has said in His word you reap what you sow... you give it will be given back to you, and He honors His word... not when we want it, but in due season you will reap what you sow, but He will give cause doe endurance as you have need of patience which increases ones faith and teaches discipline, but its never late when it does come.
CORRECTIONS by ella: And I must also agree in part... I call it the M&M syndrome... right motive wrong method... wrong method right motive... ths is why Paul speaks about what giving as he does in 2 Corinthians chpater 8 and 9 about giving. it has to be with a cheerful heart... you can give with the wrong motives and have the right method of giving, or you can give with the right method but have the wrong motives for giving... yet, and still, God is a man of His word, and He will fulfill His promise and His principles.
But if the MOTIVE is wrong, and the METHOD is right He will bring forth the harvest but will be take it away like the wind, spent without even knowing where it all went. And if the METHOD is wrong, and the MOTIVE is right He will also bring forth the harvest and require discipline by prolonging the harvest, but the harvest will come about. Because He has said in His word you reap what you sow regardless of your MOTIVE OR METHOD in giving... if you give it, it will be given back to you, and He honors His word, your return might not be pressed down and running over... and not when WE want it, but in due season you will reap what you have sown. But He will give cause you endurance, as you have need of patience which increases ones faith and teaches discipline, but its (the harvest) is never late when it does come
