Who Are YOU Listening To??

John 10. Jesus answered, I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Fathers name testify about me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep LISTEN to my voice; I know them, and they FOLLOW ME."

If you are one of Jesus' sheep, then who are you listening to, and following when you deny what He says, and disobey God's Word of Truth?...

Good points Scott! As Jesus and Paul have told us,The natural man cannot HEAR the voice of God, nether can the carnal minded man hear the voice of God, because His voice is spiritually discerned through the Holy Spiriti speaking to the spirit of the believer from the reading of God's Word... Spirit to spirit.

Jesus teaches us that those who have ears to HEAR, LET THEM HEAR what the Spiriti speaks.

A believers hears and knows the voice of GOD, from the study of His word as we are told. And Jesus say by this we know that we are of His flock when we HEAR HIS VOICE SPEAK TO US, AND LISTEN AND FOLLOW IN OBEDIENCE.

For It IS Written Thus Says The Lord, YOU HEAR THE VOICE OF THE LORD...

Consider carefully what you HEAR. With the measure you use, it will be measured to youand even more. Mark 4:24-25

So, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts Hebrews 3:7-8

Therefore consider carefully how you LISTEN. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him. Luke 8:18

He replied, "My mother and brothers are those who HEAR GOD'S WORD AND PUT IT INTO PRACTICE." Luke 8:21

Then the LORD spoke to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words but saw no form; there was only a voice. Deuteronomy 4:12

Paul said: This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have HEARD Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:17-24

Man does not live on bread alone, but on every WORD that comes from the MOUTH of God. Matthew4:4

That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom you also trusted, after that you HEARD the WORD of truth, [the word of truth is not a book], the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:12-13

Blessed rather are those who HEAR THE WORD OF GOD AND OBEY IT. Luke 11:28

Give EAR, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and HEAR, O earth, the words of my mouth. Deu 32:1

But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them,

I announce to you today that you shall surely perish. Deuteronomy 30:17-18

I will hear what God the LORD will speak, For He will speak peace to His people and to His saints. Psalm 85:8

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him! Matthew 17:5

For everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words and does them, I will show you what he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug and went down deep and laid a foundation upon the rock; and when a flood arose, the torrent broke against that house and could not shake or move it, because it had been securely built or founded on a rock. Luke 6:47-48 (listens to my words does not mean listen to someone reading the Bible, it is listening to his live, spirit words.)

Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. John 5:25 (We are the dead of whom he is speaking. But when we hear, we will live.)

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life-giving. John 6:63

When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice. John 10:4-5...And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. John 10:16

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. John 10:27

Everyone who is of the truth HEARS MY VOICE. John 8:37

Then he said, The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth. Acts 22:14

This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. 1 Corinthisans 2:13

But My people would not hearken to My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them up to their own hearts' lust and let them go after their own stubborn will, that they might follow their own counsels. Psalm 81:11-12

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven Hebrews 12:25

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation. 3:20

So call to mind the lessons you received and heard; continually lay them to heart and obey them, and repent. Revelation 3:2-3

For the letter to the Hebrews says, "God, who at sundry times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by his Son:" mark that, God has spoken to us (his apostles, disciples, and church), by his Son. Hebrews chapter 1

Thise who have EARS TO HEAR LET THEM HEAR, LISTEN AND OBEY WHAT THE LORD SPEAKS...

I agree Ella, and that is why we, the believers in Christ know His voice and cannot act like the Pharisee and consider others in our faith to not have His Holy Spirit. To even consider such a thing would be blaspheming the very Spirit and Power of God. That is why we are not to act like the circumcision, because Paul firmly rebukes those that were NOT IN THE FAITH AS UNBELIEVERS and PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO TAKE PEOPLE CAPTIVE..

Titus 1:10-16 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

And he exhorts us and shows us as being different from the nonbeliever who does not believe in the Gospel of Christ.

1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

1Co 1:18 FOR THE PREACHING OF THE CROSS IS THEM THAT ARE PERISHING FOOLISHNESS; but unto US which are saved it is the power of God.

The NON-BELIEVER DOES NOT BELIEVE THAT CHRIST DIED FOR US HE UNDERSTANDS IT BUT HE THINKS IT IS FOOLISHNESS.

1Co 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1Co 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

1Co 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto THE GREEKS FOOLISHNESS;

1Co 1:24 But unto them WHICH ARE CALLED, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

1Co 2:7 But WE speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

1Co 2:8 Which none of the princes of THIS WORLD knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto US BY HIS SPIRIT: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

1Co 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

1Co 2:12 Now WE HAVE RECIEVED, not the spirit of the world, but THE SPIRIT WHICH IS OF GOD; that we might KNOW THE THINGS THAT ARE FREELY GIVEN TO US OF GOD.

1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

1Co 2:14 But the natural man (1 Cor. 1:18; 1 Cor. 2:8) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for THEY ARE FOOLISHNESS (1 Cor. 1: 18; 1 Cor. 1:23) unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1Co 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

1Co 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.

Scriptural context is the Key to "obedience".

Let those who have ears to hear......

Any one that doubts the word of God is a natural man and a non believer. Jesus said His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. the Pharisses they know the word but failed to recognized His voice, so they did not follow Christ. Knowing the word and believing the word are two different things. May the Spirit renew our mind and open up our understanding and be able to recognised His voice so that we can do His will.

The word of God is not complicated we are.
