2 Thessalonians 2 :1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you,
2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.
3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?
6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,
14 to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.
16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace,
17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.
To all those free willers out there, HOW is it you choose when God very simply says 13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, ?????
This is a perfect example of Calvinism's twisting of scripture to justify their doctrine.
Jude was right in pointing out what is Said.
You can never get past two simple facts.
God is not a respecter of person's That is a fact.
God is Love.
The teachings of Calvinism greatly ignore these two obvious facts, because their doctrine can not accept these truth"s
These two verse's readily oppose what you both are saying is true, and they do not agree with your theology.
Nobody twisted anything except those that define who he choose according to his will.
For instance if you where concerned about the truth and what The Lord Jesus did for mankind:
14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christs stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
This passage couldn't be any clearer of the message to the church: Sin was no longer a issue.
Who was already reconciled?
Who has this message of reconciliation?
Who is this message to?
The price has been paid the invitation has gone out and has not been taken back, the message of the ambassador's for christ is come and receive your acceptance into the family of God, for the father sees you here already.
No, not for one minute is what you say true, for I am in In Christ and he in me does not deny himself, he does know the extent of his sacrifice.
What is the obvious how some must try to discredit whosoever believes, for in acceptance of The truth's of the word of God, the unbelieving are exposed by their own words.
It is line upon line, precept upon precept.
The word of God does not alter any truth in the word of God, it always builds upon itself.
It is the same world in Jn 3:16 that is in 2nd Corinthians 5.
There is no good news in Man's doctine of limited atonement.
19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them
We know there are those who's trespasses will indeed be counted against them.
If He was reconciling the world then all will be saved.
10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life Romans 5:10
So unless you are a universalist(and you would have a whole other set of problems from scripture) then your interpretation is clearly wrong. To believe what you believe these verses say, then every single person will be justified...Romans 8:30 teaches that all who are justified will be in heaven...again are you a universalist?
Now this may help you interpret "all" a little better...
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who diedmore than that, who was raised who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Romans 8:31-34
Who is the "all" he gave himself up for? Verse 33 clearly teaches this is about His elect. Furthermore, if your interpretation is He gave him up for all people in the world, then you also must interpret the rest of verse 32 as he, "graciously gave us everything in the world"...clearly not the correct interpretation.
I stumbled upon the Arminian interpretation of John 3:16...the one that claims to not add to scripture, but here it is..."God loved those who perish just as much He loves those who are saved. He wanted to save those who perish just as much as He wanted to save those who are saved. He sent Christ to die for those who perish, just as much as He sent Him to die for those who are saved. And yet, since His redemptive love and the effectiveness of Christ's death were dependent upon their "free will," He was not able to save them." How we can say that this isn't adding to the text is beyond me.
Your answer is simply the mind of man trying to speak spiritual things, there was no believing in any thing you said.
To believe the word of God is to accept the word of God as it is written.
What you want to do is persuade man that you can deny the word of God and the wisdom of God and then interpret the word of God to fit your Doctrine.
Any that do practice as you proclaim will deceive themselves into believing the words they have accepted as truth and the word of God never proclaims your opinion's even you present it as the truth.
