Does that mean praying in tongues? :prayingm: 18 Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. Ephesians6:18 4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; 6and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. 7To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses. 1Corinthians 12:4 26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes* with sighs too deep for words. 27And God,* who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit* intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.* Romans8:26 :prayingf: Post Reply

That is an example of being carnal minded, or natural man trying to elaborate on the word of God that is spirit and always spiritually discerned. To be carnally minded is at enmity with God, because the provision has been made for man to be alive unto God in the new birth and then the word is always spiritually discerned, never mentally, intellectually with the mind. Man can not rightly divide the word of Truth lest he first receive the written word of God that will illuminate in the heart of man, when the illumination comes faith has come. Post Reply

The word of God says 14 Pursue love, and tearnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may vprophesy. 2 For wone who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. 3 On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. 4 The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. 5 Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up. 1Corth 14:2 These verses they are talking about Spirital Gifts and The Greatest Gift of the Spirit being Love. When you or this John Aruther guy picks out a verse. You can�t just put your own meaning to it. You need to read the whole chapter before and after that verse to find out what it means. 8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 1 Corth 13:8-10 10 But when the perfect comes( Jesus is the perfect one)..that is when prophecies will pass away and tongues will cease and knowledge will pass away. No gift of the Spirit is to be despised!! Post Reply

No man can walk with God with natural understanding, opinion's, etc. One believes or they do not. The one that is of opinion or his interpretation obviously does not believe. Post Reply
