Some Biblical questions
Posted : 26 May, 2012 06:09 PM

Hey everyone, I couldn't come with a better topic title lol. I have several questions that are all over the map. I hope that these questions are clear to understand.

1. Did speaking in tongues occur at all before Pentecost?

2. How can someone act as a Interpreter for someone else that is speaking in tongues (1 cor 14:27-28)?

3. What are the marks of a false church?

4. I have heard from some church members and others over the years that Jesus will have the mark of the nails in his hands and side for all eternal. Is this true or mere speculation? Is it Biblical as far as scripture-based?

5. What does the apostle paul mean in 1 Tim. 2:12 "I do not allow a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; instead she is to be silent"? Does this mean a woman can't be a pastor? In referring to this question, I have heard both arguments (Complementarianism and egalitarianism). Personally, I am in limbo about this question. I don't have a personal opinion.

6. Does God have one specific person for you to marry (idea of a soulmate)?

7. In regards to Matthew 24:36... Did Jesus not know the time of his coming while on earth but does he now know since he is glorified, exalted at the right hand of the father?

8. Will we see the trinity depicted in heaven?

9. Where was Jesus for the three days between his death and resurrection?

That's all.... lol.

4. I have heard from some church members and others over the years that Jesus will have the mark of the nails in his hands and side for all eternal. Is this true or mere speculation? Is it Biblical as far as scripture-based?

I've never heard that before but I remember reading a verse somewhere where He will still have the marks when He returned.

6. Does God have one specific person for you to marry (idea of a soulmate)?

I do not think the scripture talk about that. But I do believe whichever woman (or women) makes you happy God will be pleased for as long as she is a servant of God. We have the freedom to choose but choose wisely.

9. Where was Jesus for the three days between his death and resurrection?

The scripture is not specific about that, but some believe it went to Hades.

It is best to research the words Hell, Hades, Sheol, Geenna to have a better understanding which best apply and come up with a conclusion.

Shalom

About YESHUA in the grave:

18For YESHUA died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to YEHOVAH. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, 19 through whomd also he went and preached to the spirits in prison 20 who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water,

sounds to me like he was preaching to the fallen messengers who are in chains for disobeying?

about marriage hahahaha this one will blow the doors off the thread.

No where in the Torah does it say anything about one wife one man, it talks more about multiple wives. according to Torah men can have more than one wife

the way it makes distinction of a mother and wife for example:

Leviticus 18

7Do not dishonor your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is your mother; do not have relations with her.

8Do not have sexual relations with your fathers wife; that would dishonor your father.

9Do not have sexual relations with your sister, either your fathers daughter or your mothers daughter, whether she was born in the same home or elsewhere.

10Do not have sexual relations with your sons daughter or your daughters daughter; that would dishonor you.

11Do not have sexual relations with the daughter of your fathers wife, born to your father; she is your sister.

12Do not have sexual relations with your fathers sister; she is your fathers close relative.

13Do not have sexual relations with your mothers sister, because she is your mothers close relative.

Notice the difference in mother and wife, this only one place,

another example:

Deuteronomy 25:5

When brethren dwell together, and one of them hath died, and hath no son, the wife of the dead is not without to a strange man; her husband's brother doth go in unto her, and hath taken her to him for a wife, and doth perform the duty of her husband's brother;

so what if the brother is already married? it does not say anything about him being single to marry her?

these are just two places, it is fact that western mind set as lead us to believe that big families and multiple wives for the sake of having big families is wrong

DO NOT think i am saying we can go out and have a ball with every woman we see, there is a responsibility of the husband and wife to BE FRUITFUL, that was the first command, it is still a command, be fruitful, in every way be fruitful, what kind of fruit do you produce? BUT i do believe that our FATHER YEHOVAH has a woman for a man, i believe that HE picked Sarah to be with Avraham, and as Avraham is an example to men of how to be a good servant, father, husband, ruler, i think Sarah is the same to women, i know that YEHOVAH picked Yisacc's (Isacc's) wife, Torah says so, so yes i think HE has created a woman for you

Lihitraot

I love you

That's why he now gets the response he gets from me because he's posts are never on topic.

"Holding...You are taking much from all these different preachers and other peoples reviews and opinions. I would take it straight from The Word of God!!"

Funny...didn't you recommend a book in another thread? Let's try not to be hypocritical. Here is where your error lies...In saying I take too much from preachers...you assume that I have not studied myself. You do not know this. You also imply that an opinion must be wrong and completely forget that the opinion may be derived from scripture. You completely ignore that tons of scripture was given in my response. Finally, the OP was asking for help from others. Helps from others was what I gave.

There is no assuming:

Two can not walk together unless they agree.

Now If You do not Speak in tongues you do not have the Gift of The Holy Ghost.

Why are so hard hearted to the Lord yet claiming to be those walking in the truth.

The self justification of interpretation is just simply an exaltation of self above the Word of God.

The Holy Spirit will never agree with the doctrines of men, he only agrees with the truth.

Btw The Holy Spirit is not an interpreter.

All that want to walk in agreement with The word of God, and the God of The word will have to accept the word of God, not the self exaltation of men claiming to have their personal interpretation.

Holding- Do you actually believe that God chooses certain people to be saved and the rest that he didn't choose well too bad for them!!!??? So what about Free-will. So that means if I wasnt " one of the chosen" then if I came to the Lord later in life then too d for me bc I was not chosen from the beginning.

That is what reformed( Calvinist) believe!! The whole TULIP idea made up by man not Gods Word!!

1. Did speaking in tongues occur at all before Pentecost?

No, Tounges were for the purpose of all the hears to understand what was being taught as the early church was being developed and the toungues were understandible by those who spoke a real launguage not some heavenly jibberish.

A greater question is have you mastered love?

8Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if there are languages, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be brought to an end. 9For our knowledge is imperfect, and so is our prophesying; 10but when the perfect state of things is come, all that is imperfect will be brought to an end. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, felt like a child, reasoned like a child: when I became a man, I put from me childish ways.

1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

2. How can someone act as a Interpreter for someone else that is speaking in tongues (1 cor 14:27-28)? Just like today a interpreter is needed when you have multiple luanguages. One would have to know the language to interpet. Since the men who would be preaching only knew one language. The Spirit would translate his words into those who are hearing language. This was a special occasion in penticost. as the church developed and those with differing luanguage joined together differing speakers would speak and Paul is simply saying if their is no one to interpet then be silent. Whats the point in speaking what no one can understand?

3. What are the marks of a false church?

Its easier to determine the real thing than the false like with dollar bills. They become such expert of the real thing that spotting a fake becomes easy.

35By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

4. I have heard from some church members and others over the years that Jesus will have the mark of the nails in his hands and side for all eternal. Is this true or mere speculation? Is it Biblical as far as scripture-based?

yes it is, here is Jesus after His resurection.

27Then He said to Thomas, Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.

I don't have a personal opinion.\

Like in marriage God determines order. His God head has order also. Todays Americanised women do not like this order but it is Gods none the less. Its not so much a issue of teaching but a issue of athority. Women are permited and are called to teach the younger women. Just not to teach men in a athority role.

A man would want to discuss and hear the thought of his wife concerning scripture. The reason for this is because Eve was the one decieved and not Adam. Adam gave up his role to eve where eve was decieved by the devil.

6. Does God have one specific person for you to marry (idea of a soulmate)? Gods concern for you is that you find a mate that not only is a christian woman but that your level of faith ( or trust in God ) is equal in strength. A imature person even being a christian is not going to be able to walk by faith as a more mature believer. Other than that it is your interests that should be equal. God doesnt want opposite's together. He wants harmony in marriage and not discord over great differences.

7. In regards to Matthew 24:36... Did Jesus not know the time of his coming while on earth but does he now know since he is glorified, exalted at the right hand of the father?

Jesus only knew while here what the Father revealed to Him. Now that He is reunited with the Father, He is once again fully one with the Father. Remember God is one God.

8. Will we see the trinity depicted in heaven? Yes in heaven and here on earth also but probally in a way you could imagine.

9. Where was Jesus for the three days between his death and resurrection? The most important thought is that Jesus was seperated from God. He was forsaken so we dont have to be. God forsaking himself. Can you fatom that?
