Whom Did He Foreknow??

Ro 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

It is those who he fornew that he did predestinate.

You might also ask who did he not foreknow.

Shared ~ Deduction from application of Scriptures such as the one in the OP. If the Lord were to make a name by name list of all that he foreknew and publish it... your Bible would be large enough to fill several libraries. One can apply understanding to derive my "yes" answer.

*** Deduction ???...You must truely mean Reasoning...I believe Scripture interprets Scripture...at lest thats what I've been taught by the Spirit of Yahweh~Yahshua~HolySpirit...my resoning is not the same as Yahwehs...So I depend on the HolySpirit Comforter that Yahshua said He would send..."Will teach you all things"...

*** Thank Goodness Yahweh writes the Names of his children in the Book of Life in Heaven and not on earthThe only thing written on earth inspired by the divine Heavenly Father is found to be recorded in the Book of Johnthe Apostle, which Yahshua lovedand they are all about Yahshua...

*** John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Shared ~ I sincerely hope that helps you.

*** Yes!!!...It has helped me to understand muchthank youxo

Since God is omnipotent, He knows all, He knew all. Saying He did not know all is saying He is not omnipotent.

However, there are different levels of knowledge. I may have knowledge of a person, such as Job. But I may not know that person in a sense that I have been introduced or had discussions with that person, such as Job.

God has knowledge of all, but when we face Him at the end of our life, He will judge us based on whether we had a personal relationship with Him...did He know us based on salvation.

It can be challenging to comprehend the powers of God from a human perspective. Some things are accepted based on faith that He said it. He doesn't have to prove anything to us as humans.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Teach_ib. I just can't really figure out how what you said has anything to do with the OP. Are you responding to Jude's comments about Job?

And I think you meant....since God is omniscient (not omnipotent), He knows all.

IWA, you are correct, I meant omniscient...thanks.

As for my reference, the OP is "Whom did He Foreknow?"

He is omniscient, so He foreknows all...the everyone all...not the selective all.

My answer stands, a verse does not eliminate the rest of God's Word or abilities. We cannot put God in a box or hold Him to human standards.

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power:for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Philippians 2:5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

*****

We are all predestined to worship God...now or after death...
