Scriptures: Psalm 131:3 - "As is true of all of us on special occasions, David had learned a truth that was so exciting he had to share it. He wanted his entire nation to enter into this joyous experience with him. As Psalm 131 concludes, David expresses his desire for the nation he leads.
Verse 3 - "O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forever."
Please allow me a personal comment here. David's little song has been so comforting to me. I have loved its quiet peacefulness. I have needed its message. Perhaps you have too. It is quite possible that God is "weaning" you away from every source of pride. You may have trusted in the fleeting silver and tinsel of this world, only to have it tarnish and melt in your hands. You may have believed in someone only to have him or her fail you and even turn against you. Quite possibly, you have fallen into the trap of self-exaltation and recently failed miserably. Maybe you've been accustomed to honor and public notice, but (like Moses) all that has passed, at least for a while. Perhaps your talent is no longer in demand, or your job is not now needed, or your counsel is no longer sought.
"What's happening?" you may be asking. Arrogance refuses to accept such humbling experiences; patience must take over and consciously command our souls to be still at such times. But "Why?" you may wonder. God is answering your question in Psalm 131.
Perhaps you are being "weaned" from the mother of importance, prestige, public applause, honor, and (dare I say it?) pride. Who does the weaning? The child? No, never. The act of weaning is done to the child. All we can do is submit. God is responsible. He is removing every crutch upon which you would lean so you will lean hard upon Him only. (See Proverbs 3:56.) He is changing your diet to a new kind of foodfrom the milk of immaturity to the meat of genuine humility. And He wants you to learn this "from this time forth and forever."
God sometimes removes every crutch upon which we would lean so we will lean hard upon Him only."

"Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil." I Thessalonians 5:19-22
Picture a warm fire and imagine its glow and its radiating heat bringing all around calm and comfort. If you see that picture you are getting the experience that the Holy Spirit wants to bring to you and others through you. Now go back to that fire and imagine some dude douses your fire with a five gallon bucket of water. What feelings would that bring up in you, what would you say, what would you do?
When we look at this scripture passage and surrounding verses carefully we see three ways in which the fire of God is stoked or extinguished in our life. The fire stokers would include all expressions of worship, talking to God in all matters and in all moments of life, and an attitude of gratitude. These act like a highly flammable spiritual accelerant with your journey with God, the Holy Spirit will prompt you to practice all three as a way of life to help to keep his fire burning hot.
On the other side, the fire extinguishers would include an uncooperative spirit, an unteachable spirit and an easily diverted spirit. Instead of recognizing the spiritual war for our soul and filtering what we let into our mind we adopt cultural ways of thinking and blend them with our faith, we are all tempted in these ways otherwise the admonitions wouldnt be there. Every day we will either be a fire stoker or a fire extinguisher of his work.
PRAYER: "Father, thank you so much for the power of choice, thank you that my mind doesnt control me but you have allowed me to control my mind."

It was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed . . . but with the precious blood of Christ. 1 Peter 1:1819
There is a story that in 75 bc a young Roman nobleman named Julius Caesar was kidnapped by pirates and held for ransom. When they demanded 20 talents of silver in ransom (about $600,000 today), Caesar laughed and said they obviously had no idea who he was. He insisted they raise the ransom to 50 talents! Why? Because he believed he was worth far more than 20 talents.
What a difference we see between Caesars arrogant measure of his own worth and the value God places on each of us. Our worth is not measured in terms of monetary value but by what our heavenly Father has done on our behalf.
Our worth is measured by what God paid to rescue us.
What ransom did He pay to save us? Through the death of His only Son on the cross, the Father paid the price to rescue us from our sin. It was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:1819).
God loved us so much that He gave up His Son to die on the cross and rise from the dead to ransom and rescue us. That is what you are worth to Him.
PRAYER: "Father, thank You for the love You have shown to me and for the price You paid for my forgiveness. Help my life to be an ongoing expression of gratitude, for You are the One whose worth is beyond measure."
Our worth is measured by what God paid to rescue us.

INSIGHT - In todays reading Peter tells his readers that Christ has redeemed them from an empty way of life. In the original language, the word translated redeemed (v. 18) means to set free. It is often used when talking about slaves who have been liberated from their bondage. They had been set free from the bondage of a futile and useless way of life that has been handed down to them from their ancestors. And this redeeming love of Christ was present even before sin entered the equation (vv. 18-20). Have you ever thought about the fact that Christ loves you knowing everything about you, even your sin? How does it make you feel that you have been or can be set free from the slavery of sin and death?
Where in God's Word does it say there will be world war and world chaos just before the Great Tribulation?
Matthew 24:3-13: The disciples asked Jesus, "What will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age?" Jesus answered, "... You will hear of **WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS**, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. **NATION WILL RISE AGAINST NATION AND
KINGDOM AGAINST KINGDOM**... All these are the beginning of birth pains... Then {At the beginning of the Great Tribulation} you will be handed over to be
persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of Me. t that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold but those who stand firm to the end will be saved!"
By declaring the the USA will now have their embassy in Jerusalem on the 70th Anniversary of Israel on May 14th, 2018, Trump has laid the groundwork for **WORLD WAR** and all 21 Muslim countries possibly declaring war on Israel.
Trump has also started a **TRADE WAR** with all the major nations of trhe world which will continually cause more **WORLD CHAOS**!!
Iran has flown in 80,000 Iranian troops to Syria near Israel's border. Israel has responded by bombing the Iranian troops 2 times in the last 2 weeks and Iran
has promised to **RETALIATE**!!
Trump eliminated the Atomic Treaty atomic treaty with Iran on May 8th, 2018 and Iran has promised to **RETALIATE**!!
If Israel and Iran go to war Russia and China will side with Iran which will cause the USA to join the war with Israel causing extreme world-wide world War and extreme world-wide **CHAOS** thus setting the stage for the beginning of the Great Tribulation and the coming of 666 from the Abyss or Hell. Many believe that the extremely evil Pope Francis fully qualifies to be the future False Prophet of 666!!
And so the **WORLD CHAOS** and **WORLD WAR** just before the Great Tribulation may be **EXTREMELY CLOSE**
Syrian state media reported on Tuesday night, May 8th, 2018, that Israel conducted an airstrike south of Damascus, reportedly killing nine pro-Iranian fighters in an area previously identified as the site of a suspected Iranian military base.
Nine fighters belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps or pro-Iranian Shiite militias have been killed Rami Abd el-Rahman, director of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told AFP.
The alleged strike came hours after the Israeli military said it had identified abnormal movements of Iranian forces in Syria and called for local governments in the Golan Heights to open their bomb shelters.
Rahman said the strike targeted an arms depot elonging to Hezbollah and the Iranians.
Earlier on Tuesday night, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States was pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal and imposing new sanctions on the Islamic Republic, in part due to Irans destabilizing activities in the Middle East.
The al-Mayadeen news outlet, which is seen as sympathetic to Hezbollah, reported that fires had broken out in the area following the blasts.
Videos from the scene, which were posted on social media, showed the moment of the strikes impact and its aftermath. Surveillance footage showed a blast of
white light as the bombs hit, followed by what appeared to be secondary explosions, supporting the claim that the targets of the strike were missiles. Cellphone videos also showed trucks burning and fires raging in the direction of
the alleged Iranian base.
On November 2017, Western intelligence officials told the BBC that Iran had established a permanent military base in el-Kiswah.
A month later, the alleged Iranian base was targeted by an airstrike, which was attributed to Israel.
The army on Tuesday night did not instruct residents of the Golan Heights to enter bomb shelters, only for local authorities to open public ones in case of emergency.
A number of reservists were also called up, the army said. An IDF spokesperson would not elaborate on which units they came from, but media reports indicated they served in air defense, intelligence and Home Front Command units.
The Israel Defense Forces said it deployed missile defense batteries in northern Israel and there is high preparedness of IDF troops for an attack.
The military called on residents to listen to security instructions as needed.
Following Trumps announcement, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman met with the heads of Israels armed services in the militarys Tel Aviv headquarters to
discuss the security situation, his office said.
Earlier on Tuesday, the US Embassy in Israel also prohibited American government employees from visiting the Golan Heights without approval in light of the security situation on the border.
The IDF is ready and prepared for a variety of scenarios and warns that any action against Israel will be answered with a fierce retaliation, the army said.
A video released by the IDF showed soldiers setting up the Iron Dome, Patriot, and Arrow missile defense systems.
The military does not generally reveal its deployment of air defenses. Its decision to do so on Tuesday night was likely an effort to both reassure residents of northern Israel and warn Iran that the IDF was prepared to counter
a missile attack.
On Sunday night, Israeli defense officials warned that Iran was planning to retaliate for two recent deadly airstrikes in Syria, which have been attributed to the Jewish state, by having its proxies fire missiles at military targets in northern Israel sometime in the near future.
Security forces were also preparing for the possibility of attempted infiltrations of military bases and communities in the north, Hadashot TV news reported on Monday.
Tehran vowed revenge after the T-4 army base in Syria was struck in an air raid on April 9, killing at least seven members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. The strike was widely attributed to Israel, though Jerusalem refused to comment on it. (T-4 was the base from which Israel said Iran launched an attack drone into Israel in February.) Late last month, a second strike, allegedly
conducted by Israel, against an Iranian-controlled base in northern Syria was said to have killed more than two dozen Iranian soldiers.
On Monday, Irans army chief of staff warned that the regime would respond to any Israeli aggression at an appropriate time, as the countries continued to trade threats amid spiraling tensions.
If the enemy casts a covetous eye on our interests or conducts [even] a slight act of aggression, the Islamic Republic will give an appropriate response at an
appropriate time, Maj. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri said according to regime-affiliated Press TV.
On Sunday, all of Israels nightly news broadcasts reported that the Israeli military and intelligence services had identified preliminary efforts **BY IRAN IN SYRIA TO CARRY OUT ITS REPRISAL**, using its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Hezbollah terrorist group and local Shiite militias to launch a barrage of precision-guided missiles, likely at Israeli military targets in the
north.
Israel has recently identified with certainty Iranian preparations to fire at the north, Channel 10 said. "Iran is very determined to carry out an attack to avenge the T-4 strike and the deaths of its military personnel, it said.
Israel Radio on Sunday night said the Iranian planning for an attack was at an advanced stage.
Israel was working to prevent or counter such an attack, but was also preparing for the possibility that the Iranians succeed in hitting a base in the north with missiles, Channel 10 reported. The Israel Defense Forces was threatening to hit all Iranian targets in Syria if Tehran launched an attack on Israeli territory, the TV report said.
On May 10th Iran sent 20 missiles into Northern Israel. Israel retaliated by bombing 18 Iranian bases in Syria!! Iran has promised to **RETALIATE** so war with Iran and Syria and Israel could be EXTREMELY CLOSE!!
Could this be the beginning of a World War just before the beginning of the Great Tribulation???
Richard, you just can't let go and set yourself apart from your FATHER THE DEVIL, can you? And he is using you mightily to do his work and at you being his fool... Your post is OFF TOPIC, PLEASE STOP POSTING OFF TOPIC ON MY THREADS. Thank you!
I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: Lord, save me!
The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me.
Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. For you, Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
I trusted in the Lord when I said, I am greatly afflicted; in my alarm I said, Everyone is a liar.
What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.Truly I am your servant, Lord; I serve you just as my mother did; you have freed me from my chains.
I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people, in the courts of the house of the Lord in your midst, Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord!
ABOUT: David, (flourished c. 1000 BCE), biblical Israelite king and the first monarch of all the Israelite tribes. He was the father of Solomon, who expanded the empire that David built. He is an important figure in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
Jesus is called the "son" of David which is to indicate his royal origin, "son" means descendant, when keeping in mind the promises God made to David and Abraham.
The primary evidence for Davids career is constituted by several chapters in the books 1 and 2 Samuel in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). The Psalms are also attributed to him, a tribute to his legendary skill as a poet and hymnodist. Material evidence for his reign, while a matter of intense debate among scholars, is scant. Some scholars claim to have discovered artifacts that corroborate the biblical account of Davids kingdom. Others assert that the archaeological record strongly suggests that David was not the grand ruler of a rising kingdom but merely a gifted tribal leader of a pastoral, rather than urban, society. A fragment from a stone stele mentioning the House of David (a reference to his political dynasty) was inscribed more than a century after the traditional date of his reign and is not accepted by all scholars. The following article is largely drawn from the biblical account of Davids reign.
The youngest son of Jesse, David began his career as an aide at the court of Saul, Israels first king. He so distinguished himself as a warrior against the Philistines that his resultant popularity aroused Sauls jealousy, and a plot was made to kill him. He fled into southern Judah and Philistia, on the coastal plain of Palestine, where, with great sagacity and foresight, he began to lay the foundations of his career.
As an outlaw with a price on his head, David led the life of a Robin Hood on the desert frontier of his tribal domain in Judah (in the south of the Levant). He became the leader and organizer of a group of other outlaws and refugees, who progressively ingratiated themselves with the local population by protecting them from other bandits or, in case they had been raided, by pursuing the raiders and restoring the possessions that had been taken. Those actions eventually ensured that he would be invited to become king as the true successor of Saul after the latter was slain in battle against the Philistines on Mount Gilboa.
According to the biblical account, David was proclaimed king in Hebron. He struggled for a few years against the contending claim and forces of Ishbaal, Sauls surviving son, who had also been crowned king, but the civil war ended with the murder of Ishbaal by his own courtiers and the anointing of David as king over all of Israel. He conquered the Jebusite-held town of Jerusalem, which he made the capital of the new united kingdom and to which he moved the sacred Ark of the Covenant, the supreme symbol of Israelite religion. He defeated the Philistines so thoroughly that they were never again a serious threat to the Israelites security, and he annexed the coastal region. He went on to establish an empire by becoming the overlord of many small kingdoms bordering on Israel, including Edom, Moab, and Ammon.
Davids great success as a warrior and empire builder was marred by interconnected family dissensions and political revolts. To tie together the various groups that constituted his kingdom, David took wives from them and created a harem. The resultant family was an extreme departure from the family in the consanguineal context, the traditional clan structure. Davids wives were mostly completely alien to one another, and his children were without the directing support of established social patterns that provided precedents for the resolution of conflict or for establishing the rights of succession.
The authors of the biblical accounts (in 1 and 2 Samuel) of Davids political career display a deep insight into the character of a man who could make an indelible personal impression in a specific situation. Along with that ability to exploit the immediate situation in the service of his momentary requirements, he possessed the knack of making his conduct in particular situations serve his persistent and long-range aims.
**WHAT ARE SOME OF THE COMMANDS FOR CHRISTIAN WOMEN IN THE NEW COVENANT**??
Titus 2:3-5: Teach the older women to be revereent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the Word of God!
Ephesians 5:22-24: Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the Head of the church, his body, of which He is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
I Peter 3:1-6: Wives submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the Word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives! Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy woman of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord!
I Corinthians 11: 3-19: I want you to realize that the Head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man. Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head--it is the same as having her head shaved. For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off: but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then **SHE SHOULD COVER HER HEAD**! A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man did not come from woman, but woman from man, neither was man created for woman, but woman for man!
I Timothy 2:9-15: I want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaboarate hair styles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for womewn who profess to worship God. A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or assume authority over man, she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve,. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. But women will be saved throgh childbearing--if they continue in faith, love and holiness!
I Corinthians 14:34,35: Woman should remain **SILENT IN THE CHURCHES**. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home, for it is **DISGRACEFUL** for a woman **TO SPEAK IN THE CHURCH**!
I Corinthians 9:21: Paul said, "I am not free from God's law but am under **CHRIST'S LAW**!!"
Acts 22:14,15: Ananias said to Paul, "The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know **HIS WILL** and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from His mouth!! You will be **HIS WITNESS** to all people of what you have seen and heard!
Acts 20:27: Paul said, "For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the **WHOLE WILL OF GOD**!
2 Peter 3:15,16: Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our **DEAR BROTHER PAUL** also wrote you with the **WISDOM GOD GAVE TO HIM**. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand {To unbelievers} which **IGNORANT AND UNSTABLE PEOPLE DISTORT**, as they do other Scriptures, to their own **DESTRUCTION**!
I Timothy 3:16,17: All Scripture is **GOD-BREATHEED** and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead and in view of His appearing and His Kingdom, I give you this charge: **PREACH THE WORD**; be prepared in season in out of season, correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear!!
I Peter 1:23-25: For you have been **BORN AGAIN**, not of perishable seed but the imperishable, through the living and enduring **WORD OF GOD**. For all people are like grass, and all their glory is like flowers in the field; the grass withers and the flowers fail, but the **WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER**!!
Hebrews 4:14-16: Since we have a High Priest who has ascended into heaven. Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have One who has been **TEMPTED** in every way, just as we are--yet without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need!!
Hebrews 2:18: Because He Himself suffered when He was **TEMPTED**, He is able to help those who are being tempted!!
James 1:13-15: When **TEMPTED**, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone, but each person is **TEMPTED** when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin!
I Corinthians 10:13: No **TEMPTATION** has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful, He will not allow you to be **TEMPTED** beyond what you can bear. But when you are **TEMPTED**, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it!
**HOWEVER, WE ARE COMMANDED TO WALK AS JESUS WALKED {SEE JOHN 2:6} AND TO BE HOLY AS GOD IS HOLY, WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE, AND SO WE SIN DAILY. AND WE SHOULD **DAILY** ASK GOD TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND PURIFY US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS**!!
I John 1:8-10: If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned we make Him out to be a liar and His Word is not in us!
The disciples asked Jesus, "Lord teach as to pray." Jesus replied to His disciples, "When you pray, say: '**FATHER**, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our **DAILY** bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us!'"
**IF WE DO NOT ASK THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND REPENT OF OUR SINS GOD WILL **DISCIPLINE US**
Revelation 3:19: Jesus says, "Those whom I love I rebuke and **DISCIPLINE**, so be earnest and repent!!"
Hebrews 12:5-11: Do not make light of the Lord's **DISCIPLINE**, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you, because the Lord **DISCIPLINES** those He loves, and He chastens **EVERYONE** He accepts as a son! Endure hardship as **DISCIPLINE**; God is treating you as His children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined--and everyone undergoes **DISCIPLINE**--then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God **DISCIPLINES** us for our good, in order that we may share in His holiness. No **DISCIPLINE** seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it!
