Jesus said to His 11 Apostles, "If you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. For it is written: "And He was numbered with the transgressors"{Isaiah 53:12} and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in Me. Yes, what is written about Me is reaching its fulfillment." The disciples said, "See Lord, here are 2 {Not 11}swords." "That is enough." Jesus replied.
Matthew 26:30-34: They seized Jesus and arrested Him. With that, one of Jesus' companions reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear. "Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "For *ALL* who draw the sword will die by the sword...But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?"
And so the only reason that Jesus allowed the disciples to have 2 swords was so that the Scripture in Isaiah 53:12 would be fulfilled: "He was numbered among the transgressors."
Jesus said to Pilate, "My Kingdom is not of this world. If it were, My servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But NOW My Kingdom is from another place!"
Luke 6:27-29: Jesus commands, "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you. do not demand it back!"
2 Corinthians 10:3,4: "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are *NOT* the weapons of the world."
The only weapons that NT saints may use who follow the New Covenant commands of Jesus is the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. A NT saint would not even think of joining the army of any nation and becoming a professional killer or defending himself with a gun. Unfortunately very few Groups such as the Amish still obey these sacred commands of Jesus.
I John 2:3-5: "We know that we have come to know Him *IF* we obey His {Jesus'} commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys His Word, God's love is truly made complete in him.":angel::applause:

When you join the Israeli army and become a professional killer and user of the sword; you take an oath that you will obey all the commands of your commanding officers even if they command you to drop an Hydrogen bomb that will kill 100,000 civilians including about 30,000 children; and you are therefore breaking two commands of the New Covenant.
Matthew 5:33-39: Jesus says, "You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, "Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord." But I tell you. Do not swear at all, either by heaven, for it is God's throne or by the earth, for it is His footstool, or by Jerusalem for it is the city of the Great King... Simply let your "Yes," be "Yes, and your "No," "No"; anything beyond this comes from the evil one:devil:."...You have heard that it was said,{In Deut 24:1} "Eye for an eye, and tooth for tooth." "But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also!"
Matthew 26:52: Jesus says, "Put your sword back in its place for all:devil: who draw the sword will die by the sword!"
Romans 12:19-22: "Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord..Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good."
2 Corinthians 10:3-5: "We do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are *NOT* the weapons of the world yet they have power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God."

The true saints protect themselves with the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God and God's true saints know how to use it.
Jesus says, "Put your sword back in its place for *ALL* who draw the sword will die by the sword."
Ephesians 6:17 "And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God!":applause:
Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is living and active, Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart!"

Of course we should visit doctors. God can heal us through doctors. And when we die, God will send us doctors to help us. This is also a blessing of God when He sends us doctors. It is quite reasonable.
You know after the collapse of the Soviet Union by the Americans, our medical system was destroyed.
And when my father was dying, we even could not find doctors in a very small town called Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan. Only a baptist family helped my father giving him anti-biotic. Doctors visited him, did not do anything and said that they did not have a room in hospital for father.
So, it was a time when my father should die. God did not save his body by blessing him with good doctors and medicine....But God saved his soul. He was an ex-communist who had read the Bible with me for over 10 years and discussed the Scripture. Before his death, he repented of his sins and asked Jesus to heal him.
I believe that God forgave his sins.
I wanted to leave such crazy country ex-soviet republic and to move to the USA. But my brother said:" God can bless us with good doctors even in such removed placed. God provides."
Then I understood that every good deed, gift, doctors...is from God. He is able to help us everywhere. And I abandoned the idea to move to the USA...being sure that God is with me everywhere and His blessings through doctors will reach me everywhere. :waving:

Bahira: I certainly agree that we should use doctors when we are sick and it was I who quoted Luke 5:31: Jesus says, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick."
