There is much counterfeit humility among many saints of God, and this is one of its common forms. It is not pride to acknowledge gratefully what great things the Lord has done for you; it is pride to refuse to acknowledge them. It is not true humility to doubt and underrate, until it becomes easy to deny altogether, the work of the Holy Spirit within you. It is true humility and lowliness to confess his work, to bear witness to his operation, and to ascribe to him all the praise and glory.
See then, dear reader, that you do not cherish this false humility. Really, it is just another name for deep, unmortified pride of heart. Remember that just as Satan may transform himself into an angel of light, so also his agencies may assume the disguise of the most holy and lovely graces. Thus pride, one of his master-agents of evil in the heart, may appear in the shape of the profoundest humility.
As well, bear in mind that though, to your imperfect knowledge and dim eye, the work of the Spirit in your heart may be feeblethe outline scarcely visible amid so much indwelling sin, the spark almost hid amid so much abounding corruptionyet, to the Spirit's eye, that work appears in all its distinctness and glory.
"The Lord knows those who are his" (2 Tim. 2:19). This declaration applies with equal truth to the knowledge which the Holy Spirit has of his own work in the believer. His eye is upon the gentlest buddings of indwelling grace, the faintest spark of love, the softest whisper of holy desire, the most feeble yearnings of the heart towards Jesusall, all is known to, and loved by, the Spirit. It is his own work; it would be strange if he could not recognize it.
Let this consideration have its proper weight in hushing those murmurings, soothing those fears, and neutralizing those doubts that so deeply grieve the Holy Spirit of God. Yield yourself up to him. Humbly acknowledge what he has done in you. Follow the little light he has given you. Call into constant and active exercise the small degree of grace and faith which he has imparted. And seek "by prayer and supplication" (Phil. 4:6) an enlarged degree of his holy, anointing, sanctifying, and sealing influence.
I never said we where not, actually we are to renew our mind to the word of God that we may prove the will of God by allowing the new man to put the flesh and the mind subject to the spirit of man.
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.
Unless it is otherwise noted in scripture especially the new testament when the bible speaks of man it is always talking of the Spirit of man, that is who this new man is.
In Romans 12 - 1,2 You is speaking of the new man he is to present his body, he is to renew his mind.
The new man
Ro 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Ro 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
I am also in knowledge of the scripture's that tell a believer what he is to do with the devil, not because I have memorized them but because I am a doer of the word.
Donna when you continually say I am of Satan, i understand where you are coming from, because Jesus taught about my enemy in 1985 the same year I received the Gift of The Holy Ghost and the gifts of the spirit, do I boast, absolutely not that is simply my testimony. No man can receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit that has not received first the lord Jesus.
You are satan in sheep's clothing, your words prove it, you totally contradict scripture, you deny God and his sovereignty, you twist scripture, and add to scripture to prove you charismatic beliefs of man.
