1 JOHN 5:4 "Whatever is born of God overcomes the World, and this is the victory that has overcome the World, OUR FAITH.
TODAY'S CHRISTIANS LACK AN ACTIVE FAITH.
Faith is acting on the word of God, most Christians are reader of the word and not doers of the word.
Faith without action is an illusion, when we have an active faith there is no reason to be struggling Christians but overcoming Christians, because we are sons and daughters of God, and whatever is born of God is victorious over trials and tribulations of this world
Overcoming Christians practice what they read or are taught, they see trails and tribulations as building blocks of faith, they see solutions instead of problems,.
Todays Christians wants to go heaven by seating in the pews of Churches, praying and POLUTED BY SIN.
The word of God is good medicine, until we start taking our medicine as priscribed, we will always struggle.
Good wordAngel:applause: you have stated the sum of this whole topic AUTHORITY! SUBMISSION TO AUTHORITY! Not many are willing to SUBMIT TO GOD'S AUTHORITY IN HIS WORD, so there is a struggling in the flesh between disobedience and obedience.
When a person is submitted to God's Word of Truth and His principles for living there is no stuggle as Paul points out in Phyilippians chapter4, we LEARN CONTENTMENT and how TO ABOUND IN ALL THINGS.
SUBMISSION TO GOD'S AUTHORITY BRINGS ABOUT OUR FAITH TO LEAN AND DEPEND ON JESUS CHRIST IN ALL THINGS. AND LEAN NOT TO OUR OWN UNDERSTANDING.
It is impossible to say you are looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of your faith.
And yet you refuse to be a doer of the word, for when you look upon the word you listen, when you listen you believe, when you believe you then labor to enter in to the rest of faith, and the struggle is over.
above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christs sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
This man learned, his faith wavered , he sought the lord, he heard, he resisted satan and the lord exalted him.
Faith grows, and faith will go and it must be continually feed by the hearing of the word of God. it was Paul that got the revelation of authority over Satan, and it was Satan that afflicted him trying to cause him to quit on his faith, but he roase up and was triumphant over all of satan's afflictions.
It is he that continue in the word that has the testimony of I have overcome by The Blood of the lamb and the word of my testimony.
Paul's testimony was:
2nd Timn 3:11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
PJ, you just spoke a SOUND WORD OF SPIRITUAL TRUTH HERE in your comment!:applause::applause: and it has the power of the Holy Spirit as its witness!... that was a great word !:applause::applause::applause::yay:
Georege said: Can we put 'STRUGGLE' in the Scripture?
Ella syas: George, I only doing this becasue I know you don't know where to find any of these scriptures on your own, so you ask thinking there are none, so let me help you out... its all about ones faith in Jesus Chirst and taking responsibility for ones own actions of operating in that faith... God bless!
GOD SAYS:Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously? But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. James chapter 4...
GOD SAYS: Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle(STRUGGLE) not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Ephesians 6
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. 2 Corinthians chapter 10
