We have not arrived to the biblical response of faith on this topic. YET.
Mt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Mr 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Lu 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
John 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Lk 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Those that believe The word of God concerning receiving The Holy Spirit and receive the word of God will speak with tongues.

pj says in his first article " Those that believe The word of God concerning receiving The Holy Spirit and receive the word of God will speak with tongues. "
Then pj says " Donna This post has nothing to do with The Gift of tongues, the post is the Gift of The Holy Ghost."
Donna says which time did you lie ?????
This whole thread is about your heresy of tongues i am apposing your heresy with the article I posted.

Donna the word of God is not heresy, why do you continually call Jesus a heretic?
According to Your reasoning I should instruct you as a nurse and what you should do as a nurse in a given situation but yet I am not a nurse.
How does one that will not accept the word of God, Tell anyone the word of God is heresy?
Sal's Response.
*reads the topic header, then looks at the content of the topic and notices the very last statement the topic writer made and reads it out loud as he reads another post from someone saying that this topic isn't about the gift of tongues and laughs at how some people don't actually pay attention to things that is clearly set in front of them and walks out of the topic.
PJ Wrote: "Those that believe The word of God concerning receiving The Holy Spirit and receive the word of God will speak with tongues."
Donna's response
Exactly Sal, then pj the heretic tries to make himself god, an tells me i am a heretic. pj you are a flip flopper.
Now let us point out the un christlike conduct
First lie Donna you said PJ says those that receive the Holy Ghost will Speak with tongues,
Correction I posted that statement but Jesus Said it and I for one believed him and obeyed him according to his word.
Second lie I post an article about the Gift of The Holy Ghost and you respond with a non biblical article about the gift of tongues.
You respond which time did I lie , this whole thread is about your heresy of tongues you, I am opposing your heresy with my article.
So what you said was I am correcting The Lord Jesus heresy with my false article and then said I was a heretic, very interesting.
Third lie Sal say's I did not look at what I posted and then, post my statement from the word of God when a christian receives the Holy Spirit they will speak in tongues.
I know Exactly What was posted and this posted is about receiving the Holy Spirit, and those that did spoke with tongues.
So the implication is that Sal says this is the gift of tongues.
Answer no it is not the Gift of tongues, that is another topic, and yes I know what the gift of tongues is and have know for twenty five years, this post is a spirit filled believer speaking in tongues when the receive The Holy Spirit, a completely different topic.
One is subject to man's will.
The gift of tongues is subject to the Holy Spirit's will as he determines when the gift is manifest.
Then the final lie Donna say the pj heretic calls himself God and tells me I am a heretic, pj you are a flip flopper.
Now I never said you where a heretic, you said that and Donna you do that often to whoever you will, very UN Christlike and there is no justification for lying as you both did in this post.

PJ: First lie Donna you said PJ says those that receive the Holy Ghost will Speak with tongues,
Correction I posted that statement but.....
ME: That says it all. PJ got caught in a lie. He just admitted that he posted it and then blatantly tried to make it as if Donna was lying by saying he wrote it.
Even if he can't blot out the topic because it smacks who ever reads it in the face with his words and no other than his words...
Last post.
May the Lord Jesus Christ's love, peace, and truth abide in you all.

Sal know you lied again, are you truly sure you are saved, really are you? Where is there any fruit?
I said Phillip did not say that Jesus did, I did not blot anything out.
Jesus is the word and if it is in the word
Jesus said to the Holy Spirit the word and then it was revealed to man and we know the rest.
Let us post again what Jesus said not what some people say he said, that is not a believer's response, a believer does put his own opinion to the word of God.
First mentioned thus the truth is established and remains the truth in every reference.
Any explanation of the occurrence is altering the truth Jesus proclaimed.
Acts 10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
Acts 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Acts 11:1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
What did Jesus say thru Peter in verse 45?
What did Jesus say in verse 46 how they know they had the Gift of The Holy Ghost?
What did Jesus say was received in verse 47
5 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
Do you see them arguing that Peter that was not tongues?
Do you wanna see?
I heard what the word said in 1985 and I received the word in 1985 months after I was saved and it was quite a struglle as i had to wade thru all the unbelief of those that did not under this truth. but I was hungry and he filled me, and I spoke as he gave me utterance, know it was not speaking out of the mind.

1.tongues-speaking has ceased. In both Acts and I Cor. we saw a tongues-speaking was: 1 foreign language, 2 a fulfillment of convenantal judgment and blessing, 3 a covenantal sign, 4 that it had a prophetic function, 5 that it was transitional (climactic). Furthermore, we saw that uninterpreted tongues although ecstatic was essentially revelational. If the disclosure of divine verbal revelation has ceased there is no tongues. Tongues has ceased, therefore, for many reasons. First, the fulfillment of judgment and blessing is a once-for-all event since in Acts 2 it is tied to the figure of the signs in the heavens which specifically figure the final severance of Israel and the beginning of the opening of the kingdom to the Gentiles. In I Cor. 14 the same themes appear. There they are introduced by Pauls use of Isa. 28:11 which verse not only limits tongues to foreign languages, but ties its appearance and function to the laying of the cornerstone, Jesus. Secondly, the covenantal sign as a sign of the fulfillment just outlined is once-for-all in that it signifies the laying of the foundation for the New Testament dispensation. That laying and, therefore, that sign are once-for-all occurrences. Thirdly, tongues whether interpreted or uninterpreted was one phenomenon. That one phenomenon was prophetic, or revelational. Since divine disclosing of verbal revelation has ceased so have the instruments to deliver that revelation. Finally, the transitional nature of tongues and their cessation at the end of the apostolic/prophetic era is pointedly stated by Paul.

No part of that article is scriptural,
If speaking in others tongues Ceased, then there is no Holy Ghost.
If there is no Holy Ghost there is No Jesus.
If there is no Jesus there is no Father,
And one would not need to speak (pray) in tongues for there is no one to pray to.
The primary purpose of Speaking in tongues is devotional.
No we need not worry For Jesus never lied. They are all alive and well as is the Holy Ghost and that will receive him, he will give them utterance and they will speak in tongues.

I Corinthians 13 chapter -kjv
8 verse - Charity never faileth; but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail, whether there be tongues, they shall cease, whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
Prophecies...tongues...knowledge
shalll vanish away..these three will cease because they are Partial in nature and will be Unnecessary when What is complete has come. When JESUS comes.
