To say that God the Father has purposed the salvation of all mankind, that God the Son died with the express intention of saving the whole human race, and that God the Holy Spirit is now seeking to win the world to Christ; when, as a matter of common observation, it is apparent that the great majority of our fellow-men are dying in sin, and passing into a hopeless eternity: is to say that God the Father is disappointed, that God the Son is dissatisfied, and that God the Holy Spirit is defeated.

A response is something that must be done in order to be saved right? How do you define work?

Unfortunately you haven't done much to clear up the confusion. All of us at one point loved darkness rather than light, so the question becomes does man choose God or does God choose man. I believe a very compelling case can be made from scripture that God chooses man.

If you were to read scripture without any prejudice you would find it to be both. God chooses us and we choose God. Much like a man chooses his bride. Like Christ choose His bride.

Again salvation is a relational truth. For God so valued man kind that He choose to shower His love upon us and whoever responds to God by believing this love through faith for them. Through the sacrifice of His son will not perish but have eternal life.

Once you fully grasp love it will all become clear for you.

Love is not love if it is forced upon another. The freewill of man in the beginning to reject Gods protection in the garden is the same freewill that responds to the love of God.

Just as I initiated love toward my feincee and she responded to such love. I have had others who I had initiated love toward and they could not recieve that love.

There are those who for reasons can not recieve Gods Love and reject it instead.

If you really see God interactions with Abraham, David and such it was relational between them.

We serve a relational God and He wants to relate with us as well in all of our lives.

If you choose any different that is your choice but not what God desires from you.

When I was a young boy I was introduced to Gods love through Jesus. I wanted to know more about this God and moved toward Him. I could have rejected Him because I grew up in a home devoid of love. I could have allowed my bitterness to prevent me from responding to Gods love.

I have such a room mate who grew up in a christian home and now he rejects Gods love for himself.

Even here we feel rejection by others or acceptance as we interact and repsond to oneanother. In a lot of ways life is based on these two things.

Acceptance or rejection of a job. Acceptance or rejection by family and friends. Genuine agape love is to express love even in the presence of rejection.

One day the oppertunity for individuals to respond to Gods love in a positive way will be through and they will live out eternity outside of His presence where their will be knashing of teeth and swearing toward God. A ever burning of hatred being eaten by regret in an ever sinkng pit of dispair.

"For God so valued man kind that He choose to shower His love upon u"

This is not what John 3:16 says. I do see that you are reading scripture with prejudice though. People always use that prejudice argument against me but I did not grow up believing this way. I came to it through study.

"If you were to read scripture without any prejudice you would find it to be both. God chooses us and we choose God. Much like a man chooses his bride. Like Christ choose His bride"

"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide.....If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." John 15:16,19

16 Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. 18 I am not speaking of all of you; I know whom I have chosen. John 13:16-18

"13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord...." Romans 16:13

26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards,[a] not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are 1 Corinthians 1:26-28

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will Ephesians 1:3-5

"12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones..." Colossians 3:12

4 For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5 because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5

Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? James 2:5

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9

12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it. 13 She who is at Babylon, who is likewise chosen, sends you greetings, and so does Mark, my son. 1 Peter 5:12-13

I would like to ask you, who you think it is doing the choosing here?

Free will is not something that is taught in scripture. God's sovereignty is taught though. Explaining these things away by simply calling them relational is not doing justice to the text. It is not in dispute whether God is relational.

"As according to your faith so be it."

Which mean what? That God has not yet given me the measure of faith He has given you? We are dealing with the topic of understanding, not faith. Do you understand John 3:16? You haven't shown me you have. Do you understand that scripture teaches God chooses man? You haven't shown me you have.

48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

What came first? The believing or the appointing to eternal life? Be honest.
