How can one know if he/she is called to be a prophet? And how relevant is prophetic ministry to our contemporary society? Kindly respond with biblical reference and evidence. Thanks.

First things first, not a response that glorify's the lord to say I will not bow to your false teachings when yet, someone is in error and it is not the word of God.

1st Cor 13:8 The love doth never fail; and whether [there be] prophecies, they shall become useless; whether tongues, they shall cease; whether knowledge, it shall become useless;

1st Cor 13:9 for in part we know, and in part we prophecy;

1st Cor 13:10 and when that which is perfect may come, then that which [is] in part shall become useless.

I believe all error can come back to this simple truth revealed to the church in this passage.

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present thyself approved to God -- a workman irreproachable, rightly dividing the word of the truth;

First things firs, tongues is a new testament manifestation of those that received the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Second the new testament is a covenant between God and man and to the church as a whole, we are not part of another church, we are of the same church of the new testament.

Third tongues was first manifest after Jesus was sat down at the right hand of the father, he has not come back and will not till the end of the tribulation,

Fourth notice knowledge would have to cease also,

Fifth the bible is THE Truth it is impossible for God to lie what he said is just as much true today as the word never dies.

Sixth The ministry Gifts are still for the church:

(Now this expression, He ascended, what [b]does it mean except that He also [c]had descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.) 11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the [d]saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the [e]knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature [f]which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14 [g]As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness [h]in deceitful scheming; 15 but [i]speaking the truth in love, [j]we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together [k]by what every joint supplies, according to the [l]proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

"1st Cor 13:10 and when that which is perfect may come, then that which [is] in part shall become useless."

Can you deny the fact that it is an interpetation based on timing? Your interpetation differing from mine and many others.

And by the way it really has no significance to me that you call me a false teacher. I understand your immature postion. immaurity leads to name calling.

Oh oh! I believe everyone is entitled to what they want to believe as long as we are guided by the Holy Spirit. And the question here is "How do we distinguish the Holy Spirit from other spirits? "

In this day in age, most people believe they are entitled to their own beliefs, but God says different. We are not our own. We were bought with a price, if we are wanting into God's kingdom we must do it the way he says in his word, not by doing what is right in ones own eyes. There is only one way to heaven, that is living by God's word, all others are false teachings.

Again that is where we differ you say by works and my bible says by faith in Christ alone and not by works.

You are trying to get there by your own merrit and I will be there upon the merrit of Christ.

Narrow is the way that leads to life......Jesus is the way the truth and the life. It is not in a book where life is found but in the Son of God......Jesus the Christ.

Again you might think you have great knowledge as I used too as well until I matured in faith. When you mature you will understand as well.

You are not going to God's kingdom on just your profession of faith.Even the demons profess knowledge and tremble. That is your false teachings you believe so much in.

I never said i had any work to do, the only thing i can do is read God's word and live holy as he has called me to live in his word, only by his work. My faith is on God's calling me, Christ dying for me, and the holy spirit teaching me how to live. The triune God head is my assurance.

You could never live a holy enough life to merrit the kingdom of God. Any holiness we live out is only due to the Spirit of God working in our lives to develop holiness in us as we repent before God.

The day we are redeemed by the blood of Jesus by faith we have all the holiness needed to enter Gods kingdom. The Word ( jesus) is our guide and example to relate with God on a more intimate level. As we know and relate with God we learn how to imulate His attributes that others might see god in us.

That we might love sacrificially, Forgive comepletly, express mercy openly, and give grace gaceously. The instruction of Gods word is about relating with God and others around us. If you see it as a bunch of does and donts you have missed the treasure of the word ( jesus)
