Question to us freewill believers.
Posted : 10 Sep, 2013 04:53 AM

How do we reconcile freewill and the scriptures concerning election and predestination? according to our freewills?

How do we reconcile faith as not being a work?

I think these are good questions and we should be able to give account of them but without argument from outsiders and contentions, right?

Where we get off track is when those seek to argure against our beliefs and they create contentions taking us from the discussion into argument.

So to those who dissagree can you leave us alone to discuss this amongst our selves?

"Teach, you are simply being dishonest. No one has ever argued against the fact that people make choices all the time. That is not what people mean when they talk about the slavery of the will. Look up Romans 6. Your refusal to hear what others say does not justify your assertions. "

Thank you God for sending this young man of God to declare the truth.

It's not me that's being dishonest, it's those who want to change definitions to meet their specific needs to align their belief to the Bible.

I don't see anyone talking about 'slavery of the will'. We were talking about free will, being able to choose my will over God's will. I can, I have, and I most likely will do it again because sometimes I choose wrong, God does not want us to choose wrong. It is not His will that I sin.

Men and women have resisted and disobeyed God's will since Eve ate of the forbidden fruit. She knew she was doing something she was told not to do, she did it anyway. Then Adam did it knowing it was wrong and against God's will.

The truth is already given in the Bible, Genesis to Revelation. I claim the writings inspired by God, God-breathed, not the words and interpretations of those who stake their hope in thinking they are elected. I have yet to hear anyone who thinks they are elected satisfactorily explain how they know they are elect, and I've asked quite a few for the explanation.

When you can explain how you know you're elected, then I may listen to you. Until then, I will continue to claim the Scriptures that clearly state the need to believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. I can show you again multiple verses that state the need to call on the Lord to be saved.

Well Teach,

One is either very dull, i.e. unable to grasp what's being written and respond to it cogently or one is being willfully dishonest. I believe that Scott is being charitable when he elects to say that you are being dishonest as he could have just as easily concluded the other way.

I have no idea what lie I told that he is refuting. This thread was about free will, not slavery of the will.
