Free-will doctrinePosted : 23 Jul, 2012 04:33 PMFree-will doctrinewhat does it do? It magnifies man into God; it declares God's purposes a nullity, since they cannot be carried out unless men are willing. It makes God's will a waiting servant to the will of man, and the whole covenant of grace dependent upon human action. Denying election on the ground of injustice, it holds God to be a debtor to sinners, so that if he gives grace to one he is bound to do so to all. It teaches that the blood of Christ was shed equally for all men and since some are lost, this doctrine ascribes the difference to man's own will, thus making the atonement itself a powerless thing until the will of man gives it efficacy...http://www.spurgeon.org/sermons/0502.htm |

Free-will doctrinePosted : 24 Jul, 2012 09:04 PMYou have Institutes open before you so Calvinism must be wrong. I don't know if you recall a month or two back when we tried this and you failed so miserably with the actual scriptures on the topic that you just stopped posting in the thread. You can debate all you want whether Calvin was a good guy or not, but it's simply irrelevant. |

Free-will doctrinePosted : 24 Jul, 2012 09:06 PMI also have studied material from Calvinism and I read the posts on this site that are cut and pasted here. There are holes in the paragraphs that are posted...which can lead people who are searching for the truth away from the truth. |

Free-will doctrinePosted : 24 Jul, 2012 09:14 PMThe clear intent of Calvinism is to lead other's away from the truth, the word of God. |

Free-will doctrinePosted : 24 Jul, 2012 09:21 PMIf you studied from Calvinism, then did you willfully misrepresent it, or do you just not understand it? |

Free-will doctrinePosted : 24 Jul, 2012 09:24 PMThe question should be if one has studied the word of God why, should any one say they are supposed to accept another doctrine, thus denying the word of God. |

Free-will doctrinePosted : 24 Jul, 2012 09:53 PMI asked a question...why bother spending my time doing God's work if the fate of others is already determined? The question points out the fallacy of the belief that I don't have to do anything to receive the gift of eternal life...I have to believe in my heart and call on His name for me to receive the gift of eternal life that Christ paid for through His death. |

Free-will doctrinePosted : 24 Jul, 2012 10:17 PMFate is NOT a Christian concept. It's Hellenic. The Bible never speaks of "FATE" |
