The Bible tells us that when we die we will spend eternity (a very long time, wouldnt you agree?) in either paradise or torment. Matthew 25:46. If we search the Bible, with an open mind and heart, we will discover what God says about how to gain eternal life in heaven. If not, maybe we are relying upon what friends or family or churches have taught or told us. Is this wise? Or should we investigate for ourselves? If you were buying a car, would you rely upon what you were told or would you check it out for yourself? If you were buying a home, would you rely upon what you are told or would you check it for yourself? Eternity is much more important than earthly matters. Lets look at what God says, week by week, to see how what we might think compares with what the Bible says. Then, remember, God promises that if we seek him we will find him! I Chronicles 28:9, II Chronicles 15:2, Proverbs 8:17.
We will go through the New Testament of the Bible, week by week, stopping at each of the hundreds of verses that tell us how we might gain eternal life in heaven. But, first, let us spend a moment considering whether or not the Bible is true, and inspired by God, as it declares in II Timothy 3:16, or whether it is a pack of fairy tales, as some would contend. If the Bible is not true, such a search is without any value. But, if the Bible is true, and God does tell us in the Bible how to gain eternal life and avoid eternal torment, then this is the most important search that any of us will ever conduct.
There are many proofs that the Bible is true, but let me mention a few. The center of the Bible is Jesus and the key question here is whether or not he rose from the dead, as the Bible says. If he did, I think this would prove the Bible is true, dont you? Will you be writing out todays date at any time? 2007 means 2007 years from the birth of Jesus. Something important must have happened back then to establish our dating system. And, do you notice a difference between the Christian countries of the world and the countries that have been plagued by false religion? If not, I suggest you turn on your television news this evening and you may notice some differences. And, finally, let us consider the disciples. All but one of the remaining eleven died a martyrs death for teaching that Jesus was God. These men knew whether Jesus rose from the dead or not because they were there. Did they die a martyrs death to protect a lie? If so, for what conceivable reason? Next week lets consider what may be the greatest outside proof of the Bibles truth and then well begin to look at verses that tell us how to gain Gods great gift of eternal life in paradise!
Before we start looking at salvation verses, lets look at a great proof of the truth of the Bible. How do we know the Bible is true and not one of the other multitude of false religions? Lets consider prophecy. Most of the false religions of the world do not even attempt prophecy and those that do invariably get it wrong. Humanism, the man centered religion of todays elite, and many others, published its Bible, the Humanist Manifesto I, in 1933. Within 40 years, in 1973, it had to be rewritten (the Bible has never been rewritten) as their first Bible couldnt even accurately predict 40 years hence. And, these scholars are still rewriting the Bible they couldnt quite get straight (and never will). But in the real (i.e. Christian) Bible are hundreds of prophecies, most already fulfilled to the letter with only a few yet to be fulfilled. For example, thousands of years ago it was predicted that Jerusalem would be destroyed, the Jews exiled and scattered and persecuted, and that the Jews would again be drawn to Israel to there recreate their nation (which occurred in 1948). The Bible also foretold that Israel (a tiny nation no bigger than most of our states), as we approach the end of time, would become the center of world history--and if you dont believe that incredible prophecy is being fullfilled before your very eyes, just pick up and read any newspaper any day of the week. See http://www.aboutbibleprophecy.com for references to these and many other prophecies. I think we should worry a lot less about todays maddening political situation, which God will deal with in His time, and a lot more about where you and I will spend eternity. The Bible, for example, has a lot to say about what will happen in the Mideast in the coming years - - but more importantly it has much more to say about where you and I will spend eternity.
Dove, you really should change your name. You deny Gods holy infallible word. You make a mockery of God, then proclaim you are a christian. You are truly deceived by your father the devil, and should be ashamed of yourself.
You are telling non truth about me, are you Judge of me are is God?. Who are you to say what I believe other than what I Posted here in my Topic .
I am a Christian who are you to Judge how I interpret the Scripture. So... disgree that is your own Choice.

Stating truths and who you have shown yourself to be are not insults. You may feel insulted, but that's because you don't want to admit the reality. Read the thread bad and you will see blatant attempts to mislead, ignore what you know you couldn't defend with scripture, deny scriptures that say we should defend truth, etc....
GU...again YOUR Opinions and thoughts of me.
I interpret the Scripture the way I said in the Topic at hand.
You brother resort to personal Attacks when you do not Agree with me. YOur belief is different.
YOu are not the only one who can interpret Scriptures.
Pointing out the hypcrisy and lies are not wrong. I will not apologize for that. You ahve been insulting to everyone else this entire thread by misrepresenting them and showing that you do not care about what the scriptures say. You have not apologized of admitted any fault. Now you want others to feel bad that people are calling you out on this? A better plan would be for you to repent and learn from this.
"your opinions and thoughts of me"....No....it is what you ahve put on display for all to see so that it is no longer just people's opinions but truth which is evident to all. I broke down all of your misrepesentations, lies, hypocrisy, etc, after you did them and you apologize nor admitted fault for any of them. You have now earned your reputation. Do not cry foul now, when you have fought to earn it.
"You are not the only one who can interpret scriptures"....you have been called out on this misrepresentation over and over again. Furthermore, you can't continue going on in the thread acting as if you are right and telling others to not act as if they are right. That's called hypocrisy. It's a double standard.
You asked why I continue to speak on your character and I responded by telling you that you continue to show your character. You responded by telling me that I do it because I disagree with how you interpret scriptures. This has been shown to be a blatant fabrication several times and if you continue using it, I will have no choice but to continue calling you a liar. Where is your integrity?
You have repeatedly insulted me. Are your insults less of a sin than my supposed insults? What gives you the right to insult TBK and me all the while telling us not to insult you? You must think you know it all. Sound familiar? Yea I made it up, just like you keep making it up.
As far as living as peace with brothers and sisters....at this point I have no reason to consider you a sister. I mean that in the most sincere way. I also find it ironic that you post a scripture that you want others to listen to when you outright deny scriptures presented to you like the ones clearly showing that we should defend truth. You've still not answered this. You ignore it as if I haven't ever even asked. I guess truth isn't important. Well I sure hope the readers are ignoring you just as you are ignoring the rest of us. It's your way or the high way...even if you have no idea why you believe your way. I suspect if you were honest and we got right down to it, you'd say it's what you've just always been taught.
Lets see,we have to choices here. One where man gets credit for "choosing God" and one where God gets the glory for choosing to save some even though they dont deserve it.
Ill go with the second because it is backed up with correct contextual proof in scripture.
